Kelly Chan played her part as a woman with cancer searching for hope. She may have been the main character, but more endearing than her rigidity and hidden self-pity is Mr. Worn's (Takeshi Kaneshiro) belief in life and it's magic.
A truly enchanting film. Strange and sporadic at times but wholly endearing.

I can't say the plot has much to recommend itself, but the hypnotic cinematography and killer one-liners more than make up for it. The film's dichotomy of two tenuously related stories wasn't too good an idea. The first one was all grit and grind with a little tenderness (Takeshi Kaneshiro as a vulnerable cop infatuated with a criminal). The second story was all wit and quirk.
Take your pick which one you like better. Not as defining as some would like to think it is, but definitely worth seeing. (Who wouldn't want to see people talking to soaps and gulping down 30 cans of pineapples?)

Had it not been for the movie's incredible imagery and music, I would cast it among the genre of dead-beat movies. Even though it's not good policy to get by on the beauty of one's cinematography, the movie does succeed in fobbing itself off as a compelling piece.
The first half an hour is ghastly, it's only saving grace a very quirky scene with the Queen...The movie definitely takes a turn for the better. Overall, worth your hour and a half.
