Q-Man

As Marvel series go, Daredevil is one of the better ones. Charlie Cox does a great job as Matt/Daredevil. He's one of those British actors who sounds authentically American. He is convincing as both a lawyer and a super hero.

The rest of the cast play their roles well. Heather, Kirsten, and Cherry are all good. Vanessa is an interesting mix of sophistication and pure evil. The girl who plays Angela is outstanding.

That brings me to Vincent D'Onofrio as Donald Trump, whoops, I mean Wilson Fisk. I know that many people praised his performance but I just found him annoying. Yes, I know we're not supposed to like him, but still he ruins every scene in which he appears. That whispering voice sounds like he's about to belch, then he has those sudden increases in volume. It's surprising that he was directed to speak in such an irritating manner.

I'll continue to watch the show, because it has a good plot, but wish they had a villain other than Wilson Fisk.

So many movies ramble all over. This film was coherent even taking place over decades. The cast was outstanding. Tom Holland proved that he is much more than Spider-Man. His performance had depth and range. Bill Skarsgard was excellent in his role. The supporting cast was perfect.

Robert Pattinson was sufficiently creepy as the sleazy, manipulative preacher.

Riley Keogh and Jason Clarke were unsettling as the weird couple. Eliza Scanlon as Lenora portrayed her sad character well.

Lastly, Sebastian Stan played against type and was thoroughly convincing as the overweight corrupt sheriff.

This may not be a movie for everyone but I would recommend it to someone looking for a well made, serious film.
