Talented play writer, director and actor, Domingos de Oliveira has made a few films since this one and still doing, always dealing with his main theme, love and its implications. Considered by some viewers the Brazilian Woody Allen, no other Brazilian film director has this funny, inventive and sensitive look at day-by-day romantic comedy situations as Domingos does.
"Todas as Mulheres do Mundo" is an ode to women. The story of a man with many flirts, suddenly caught by love. Since then, he is going to face the delights of monogamy and suffer all the pain and doubts that love itself demands, in order to survive and grow stronger, with humor, sensibility and great actors (highlighting the performances of Paulo José, Leila Diniz and Flávio Migliaccio). Domingos and his crew can extract each light of beauty that Leila Diniz reflects. This is a true masterpiece of the "Cinema Novo" era, an icon of Brazilian cinema.

One of the greatest films ever, Fucking Åmål is an example of independent feature. And also cinema itself, because the director, despite he was using little resources, could easily capture the perfect and magic moments of this film, showing a sensible and passionate look at the so-called scary issue of homosexuality. Without mystery and without propaganda, Fucking Åmål treats the subject with sensibility and laughs. The spectator feels connected with the characters, which are perfect, very well constructed.
The two leading actresses are a particular show. They are so magnificent that they carry out the film. They are very adjusted to their papers.
The situations are so magic and creative that makes you feel the excellent screenplay. The shy and old-fashioned gay lover with an untouchable love, writing her thoughts in a PC, and the modern hetero that's going to go through conflicts of sexual identity, bringing out love in it's most pure and mature way. A sensible, touching and very funny journey.
It also criticizes the modern middle-class (not only youth) youth manners, at the same proportion it shows that there are rare exceptions nowadays.
In a time when uncountable fortunes are spent in the making of a film with nothing to say, Fucking Åmål is a true example of simplicity and success. An inspiration for all of those who wants to make cinema with great ideas instead of big pretensions.
