I give this five stars just because of who is in it. Not for the story, acting, dialogue or entertainment. I felt it was written by a five year old and directed by a brick.
I wasn't expecting much because the past few episode sunk through the floor. The gritty story telling was fast overtaken by some comedy parody farce where reality went out the window.
None of it made any sense and relied hugely on a suspension of reality. As every second ticked by it just got more ridiculous. I watched hoping for some intelligent twist but it wreak was predictable Garbage. In fact it was worse than that. It was just dumb and unsatisfying. All I could think of was "was that it!?" Such lazy storytelling that concentrated more on 'series 2' than it did on developing the story.
When the great actors are made to look, act and sound rubbish, well you know the Director / Writer has cocked up. How is it possible go humiliate such an all star cast such as this!?
This could have been really good. I liked Toms character. But he was lost in this awful story.

Just like most series, they start well, suck you in and then pummel you with absolute crap knowing you will suffer it just to see the ending. This episode starts silly, gets ridiculous and then turns into a parody. The suspension of disbelief is much needed here. Reality goes out of the window very early on.
There is a mash of so many incredulous storylines that you almost give up the will to care. The pace it bounces from one cliche plot to another gets incredibly comical. What was once serious, moody and suspenseful, was now a race against time to squeeze in every worn out farce you can think of.
The race to save the kidnapped was the last straw. Either he owned a Time Machine, or was light speed fast, or had an endless supply of bullets, or was just the victim of painfully awful writing.
This episode was awful. No fake good review is going to change that. Very little hope of a recovery. Only three episodes left to prove me wrong...

I never even knew this was being made. The original was really good and never felt like a sequel was needed. But here it is..
All the originals are involved, to varying degrees. It tries to find the same fashion glam. It doesn't. It tries to find the same gloss. It doesn't. It tries to find the same humour. Very patchy. It tries to find the same chemistry. Very stale.
The original was all about Lively being a bad ass. But in this, she is immediately a parody trying to be her former self.
All the characters are half hearted and different. Significantly different from what made the original work so well.
Then before you know it, bang, the film becomes a nursery mystery made for children. A who dunnit tale that is really a who cares.
The underwhelming release is understandable. It is a TV movie that is incredibly average, with A Listers just going through the motions. A sequel was never needed. But one was created, but failed to find a reason or a story that would enhance the original. All very flat and dull. But it looks pretty. And uses Capri to make it bearable...
