I watched this movie as part of a sociology class in college. We were learning about the discrimination people with disabilities face.

King Gimp is about a young man named Dan Keplinger who was born with cerebral palsy. When he was 12, two filmmakers in Baltimore began to document his life. Even though he was extremely intelligent, it was amazing to see how people sometimes treated him because of his speech impediment and physical disabilities. They filmed him up until he was about age 25. The only issue I had with the movie was that it was very difficult to understand his speech at times.

Otherwise, this was truly an inspirational movie!

The plot was fun. A beautiful woman (Catherine Zeta-Jones) marries a known philanderer because she knows she will catch him cheating later and then be able to divorce him and take all of his money. George Clooney stars as a bored divorce lawyer who represents the husband and he manages to win the case, even with all the evidence she has gathered against the husband.

The problem is, he falls in love with his client's ex-wife. Meanwhile, she is plotting to get even with him for leaving her penniless. The ensuing twists and turns between the two are hilarious as you discover just how scheming she is.

No Oscar winners here but it's a cute movie to while away the afternoon watching.
