Classificação de Ducktape-2
I don't even watch it anymore because, everytime I do, I make that noise. You know the one. The "God, that's so stupid" noise. It's sort of a sigh, but not quite. Matt Groening has nothing to do with this show anymore, which is probably the main factor. My brother just got me the DVD for season one and the commentary almost made me cry. There was a part where Homer was doing something loving and the creators say, "Homer wouldn't be that good a parent on an episode now. His parenting skills are much lower than they were in the past." Something like that. That's why your show sucks now. Homer used to be a complex character. That's what you strove for, realism through animation. Something touching like Marge choosing Homer over a bowling instructor, or Homer having to steal a tree for Christmas. They talked about wanting to keep the characters in some sort of economic weight, with problems to deal with. Now there's nothing of the sort. Everything is for the laugh, which really never happens. Quick, obvious jokes. Spongebob Square pants and the Simpsons share the same audience now. That's sad. What the show used to make fun of is now a reality. That episode a while back with the different spin-off parodies? Those were better plots than any of the ones used now. The show where Itchy and Scratchy make a movie, the jokes about commercialism and all that.. it's happening. And the plots aren't plots anymore. They've run out of ideas or the people that took over recently never had any ideas to begin with. They're all but giving Homer an imaginary green alien friend, or having Marge give birth again. That's when we know it'll be over. And that won't be bad.
I just came back from seeing this movie and the only words I can think of are brilliant, inspiring, and damn funny. The funniest movie I've seen in years, and yet, when describing the storyline to friends, I'm sure it won't sound that funny. The performances and the way they performed this very smart dialogue are what made the movie as great as it was. Gene Hackman was amazing. I never knew he could be so hillarious.
I did not enjoy this movie at all. This movie was completely boring, especially at 3 hours long. And what can I say happened over this 3 hour span? A guy made a ring. A different guy found the ring. They decide to destroy the ring. They try and get to the place where the ring can be destroyed. Then what? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Three hours of basically nothing. Sure, there were scary-looking monsters and all that crap almost every scary fantasy movie has. Nothing special. I went into the theater with an open mind. I don't usually like fantasy movies, but maybe this will change my mind. Everybody I know likes it. It must be good. The truth of the matter is that if the seats at the theater weren't so damn uncomfortable, I would have fallen asleep half-way through. But no. I had to stay awake and watch the rest of this boring, mindless piece of garbage that indeed did have an ending, but I'll be damned if I knew what it was. And they think I'll sit through two more movies like this one to find out if they actually end up throwing a ring down a stupid cliff. Right.
