The Perfect Setting

A pretty conventional HM movie, with beautiful people. Can't say I'd be as willing to forgive the father for cheating (at least once?) in the competition as the son is. But overall a good movie.

But the "big diamond"? I'm a geologist, but you don't need to be a geologist to know that the 30 carat "diamond" was an obvious quartz crystal, and not even a particularly good one. I personally own nicer looking crystals. And in the interests of veracity, why not at least have a clear, fake diamond? The producers must have had at least one expert consultant. Didn't that person at least point out how obviously, painfully, wrong that was? It's like having a movie about veterinarians who call a dog, a cat. It was embarrassing to see that.

Absolutely had no idea what to expect with this movie. It's a film about jewelers. And how can a filmmaker capture the audience with such a theme, unless there is a mystery or a twist?

A thirty something female jeweler in Chicago is trying to make her mark in the jewelry business, but her designs haven't quite been discovered. As the story continues, we see that she is gifted with a unique artistic design.

She travels to Antwerp to help her grandfather who is in a sudden financial crisis. He owns a jewelry shop, but has been operating alone. She is somewhat familiar with the city, because she spent some of her childhood there.

She meets a young man who works for a rival jewelry store nearby. They share a mutual attraction, but they are on opposing sides in an upcoming jewelry competition.

The story becomes very interesting as we get more acquainted with both characters. Something about the setting, and the romance is very intriguing. I found myself entertained and entranced by this otherwise seemingly run-of-the-mill Hallmark film set in Europe. The magic is transparent with 'The Perfect Setting'.

This is another terrific movie by HM. Laci Mailey is the next big star for HM. Laci and David Elsendoorn have on screen chemistry. The storyline is very good, not your typical HM themes.

The supporting cast especially Laci's grandfather are very good. The settings are excellent. Loved the tourist attractions. The director really captured the Belgium culture I thoroughly enjoyed this movie , I didn't realize it was a HM movie. It was that good. HM needs to produce more movies like this and new talent. Laci should be their biggest actress moving forward. She's excellent and beautiful to boot. HM keep producing movies in European locations.

Pathetic corny lame show with phoney silly people and manipulative themes. I cant stand this kind of show with perfect clothes and makeup and hair and settings. Its sickening and makes me vomit how everything works out so perfect and happy.

And in the end the old man makes up for cheating and becomes a softee.. lololol...- and in the end love prevails.... Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah silly elevator music... these halmark shows are all the same formulas with cheesy fake people and themes with unrealistic situations and Settings and props. Like shows where the peoples homes are uncluttered and look like noone lives there and manipulates women to say to husbands " wht can our house look like that" you never kiss me like that.. blag blah blah... all fakery and manipulation.
