What a fantastic idea and what a privilege to watch the development, passion and joy of music performance, team work and creativity this truly inspiring show and it's wonderful performers and supporters. Elly May Barnes' idea put into this incredible tv show has built bridges and greater understanding of the challenges for all artists, particularly for artists with disabilities. I have nothing but admiration and respect for these dedicated performers, their coaches and families. Such talent - so glad we got see and be part of their joyful yet challenging journey. Their performances at Mundi Mundi were brilliant. Their humanity was beautiful to experience. More of this please!
Initially it only came on my radar because Tim Rogers was involved (being a pretty big YAI fan and Hardons). I didn't know anything about the series except two musos were getting two groups together to play a festival show. WOW.
The brain child of Elly-Mae Barnes (daughter of Aussie icon rocker Jimmy Barnes), a disabled performer herself who I never knew had cerebral palsy.
I basically binge watched the whole thing! I can't imagine how hard it would have been for all involved to put this together. It's hard enough getting up on stage being fully capable let alone having some form of disability. Not to mention how hard it would have been on the coaches too. My wife used to do disability care and she was fried every night afterwards.
Putting disabilities aside, the musicians involved were were incredible. Even though many had played before in bands to a certain extent, it was amazing seeing the two groups grow as performers and artists over the 7 week (5 episodes) and ready for the big stage.
A great must watch.

Both my wife and I shed a lot of tears. As parents who have now retired but brought up an Asperger boy (diagnosed at 5) who is now an international Qantas 787 pilot, we related to the plight of these kids and their parents. I hope they can continue on but could see them grow through the experience (and our tears,) even if they should decide it is a one off event for them, We think everybody would relate to the show whether they had children with certain diagnosis but in any event it is enjoyable just to see the development of them through the experience. Jimmy's daughter and the coaches should be justifiably proud of what they did for these people. A really good watch. J&G.
Hats off (and huge rock salute) to Elly-May Barnes, Ella Hooper, Tim Rogers and Adam Hills for this excellent production! Also special mention to Ben Gillies and Delta Goodrem for their respective mentorship of young, Australian musicians performing for the first time at historic Mundi Mundi Bash in Outback Australia. Kudos to Adam Ventoura for his expert talent in helping out one of the bands prior to their festival performance. Amazing talent that has come together beautifully to inspire and educate. Production-quality music (one song from each band) also available for download from music streaming services. Very highly recommended!
