Well, I expected a real bad movie, and was not disappointed:
Various newsreel footage was added, of course not connected to the campaign area.
The entrie movie feels like ideas from famous stuff put into a blender - maybe AI - to generate a very generic plot.
If you watch it: its an example of minimal production costs, without good story or dialog, maybe very good as exercise for film students.
- All CGI shots are included in the trailer, and they are from old videogames.
- An absolut minimum amount of sets was used - Eric Roberts is only in the one "war room".
- There was a lack of extras, so typical troop size is about two or four soldiers.
- External shots with rented equipment are expensive, so close up, interior or the woods
- Anyway, they had one real VW type 82!
- Pathetic speeches
- poor dialogue
- there was some story. Never mind.

Avoid this at all cost, complete waste of time. I registered here only to warn you and save your time.
Low-low-looow budget movie, I mean they could not afford to have even enough actors! Everything is bad, corny plot, poor acting, early 2000's cgi effects, stupid, stupid unlogical scenes. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
How they got Eric Roberts here astonishes me, but even he cannot save this.

Not a bad story about a squad determined to plant a beacon for full paratrooper assault on Ste Marie Eglise as part of the Normandy Invasion. A lot of detail went into this less than accurate historical drama. Hardly any worse than the Dirty Dozen. Just not the big names. The costuming is good with no noticeable errors. Even Kubelwagens add to the authenticity. Several intense moments. The one flaw, the terrains. The landing area is mostly flat land and farms with hedgerows and without dense forests. Perhaps if rthe acting were stronger it might compete with Battleground if the there was an actor equal to Vic Morrow.
A watchable film in my opinion. Very obvious a very low budget film. But that considered perhaps a bit more research. Several basic errors. Early in the film, two German soldiers which one was wearing collar insignia of a General. I am no expert, but I pretty confident that Generals did not get involved in two man patrols looking for American paratroopers.
I couldn't even finish this movie it's so unbearable, the lighting was all off (characters are underexposured and backgrounds are over exposed, camera quality was horrible, honestly the quality would've been better if they filmed it on an Iphone 6. They used smoke machines to disguise the mess. Not even a worthwhile watch, it's just a bad bad movie. The only notable thing I can say is there is often thought out framing. A lot of talking and limited action. They would've been better off making a different film genre with what must be an okay do-able budget. Though the budget isn't nearly enough to make a movie of this ambition any good.
