This is a 2-episode follow-up to the show No Gain, No Love-7.4, which is a medium-low IQ romance made just-for-fun. NGNL is a pre-requisite to this show; there's no "getting it" without watching NGNL first. In SUOL, we dive into the plot of one of Bora's novels. They cut from the novel to the scene where she faints and Bok Gyu Hyun takes her to the hospital. When she wakes up, SHE'S inside of her script as the heroine. She looks great with the long black hair, BTW. This 2ndary couple's is FUN.
Her novel's ML is based on her longtime friend (crush) Yeo HaJun, so that is who we see with the heroine in the opening scene. When Bora wakes up, she is inside her FL and the ML is not HaJun - it's that loathsome hate-commenter! They are still enemies at this point in the story. I'm becoming a fan of actor, Lee Sang Yi, and it has nothing to do with looks. He sings for the soundtrack too.
Awesome special effects augment one scene. She's in a bus and is startled to see him on a billboard. His billboard image comes to life and starts talking. It even breaks the 2D plane and leans down towards her, coffee in hand. Later, he flies through the air and catches her when she's in danger, in another scene. When they land, it's with enough force to crumple the pavement. That whole scene is right out of Chinese fantasy, which is arguably the best fantasy entertainment in the world. In fact, the plot is not unlike the absolutely marvelous The Romance of Tiger and Rose-9.8, where the writer falls into her script. In TROTAR, the FL is transferred into a character that gets whacked in ep3, so she must scramble to save her life and then complete the plot so that she can go home. Every move she makes creates a ripple effect, though, and her villain isn't as villainous as she wrote him. In fact he's.... Ha! Just watch the show.
In TROTAR, the FL maintains her autonomy. In SUOL the FL has bouts where she must engage in the plot (one steamy encounter after another), despite her desperate desire to not do so. She LOATHES The ML. Yet she can't push his lips away from hers. And she doesn't loathe what's going on completely. She's fighting against herself.
It's a bit of afterglow fluff. It could have been better, but it's 2 fun little episodes. If you like the main dish, NGNL, there's no reason you won't enjoy dessert.

Korean Drama '' Spice Up Our Love '' is a spin off of the drama '' No Gain, No Love'' and it proves that the side couple was actually the best one of the original series.
This time around, the relationship is explored through the lens of fantasy, as the main character transforms into the main lead of her webtoon. The story offers a lot of cute and sweet scenes, along with more spicy ones, that all work as fan service for the couple's shippers.
In addition, the fantasy element was well handled and worked nicely with the comedy one.
Finally, the performances were all great by everyone in the cast and the main couple had tons of chemistry.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

Spice Up Our Love is a spin off from the Kdrama 'No Gain, No Love'. You definitely want to watch that first to provide context...and actually it fits best to pause NGNL right after the scene where Nam Ja-yeon wakes up in the hospital after thinking Bok Gyu-hyun had been killed and watch SUOL before continuing with the rest of NGNL. This will greatly help make Nam Ja-yeon's actions during the rest of NGNL make much more sense and does not spoil anything...all of SUOL occurs before or at that time point in the overall story.
The Nam Ja-yeon behavior during the last part of NGNL had not really made sense to me until I watch SUOL. I realize it would have been difficult to splice that large of a time slice with the secondary leads into the main film but not doing so inserted some character development dissonance into the main story-line.
Spice Up Our Love si a cute, slightly goof short series in its own right though so give it a watch even if you don't want to spend the time on NGNL. Han Ji-hyun and Lee Sang-yi are great together and it is a fun romp watching Han Ji-hyun react to her situation and try to escape back to her real life.

I loved the two episodes.. I was actually satisfied with this spin-off until I watched the post credit scenes.. It left me wanting more.. Their on screen and off screen chemistry is through the roof.. The actors did a great job.. I actually miss them more now.. Just like the other reviewers said you have to watch 'no gain no love' before watching this.. Honestly, I liked these two more than the main leads even in that show.. Their scenes felt so real and had me smiling the whole time.. I could watch them over and over without getting bored.. The way they bring their characters to life is amazing..
I can't say anything since i just watched the first episode, which released today. And if you are planning to watch this K drama you have to watch another K drama which is No gain No love. If you don't watch no gain no love you won't understand what is happening. These two K drama are linked so if you don't watch no gain no love you will be confused and puzzled so it is better to watch no gain no love, it is a good K drama. I can't say anything based on the first episode but i don't think it is a must watch but if you are planning to watch it give it a shot or if you have no K drama to watch you can try watching. I will watch the full series and give update if it is bad i will tell. THIS IS ONLY MY REVIEW AND NOT EVERYONE WILL HAVE THE SAME OPINION AS ME.
