I think I've been waiting for this comedy special my whole life.
Nikki spends an hour proving she's a free thinker, and she does it in a damn funny way. She doesn't just follow what everyone else on this planet does in their status quo pursuit of happiness.
This isn't just comedy, it's a call to action. There are so many issues that go under the radar-obsession with the nuclear family, dignity in death, how we treat non-humans so differently from humans... I hope people can laugh with Nikki, and then think critically about how we should implement the societal changes she's proposing.
I've watched the special twice already (once by myself, again with my boyfriend) and we laughed the whole way through.

First of all, while this is extreme, explicit content which usually it turns me off, I was way more blown away by the what almost 2 hour monologue flawlessly delivered, with so much energy, by Nikki. Turning despair into joy and laughter, the laughter literally gave me a workout!! I was invigorated, my gut got a half hr at the gym, and so did my spirit.
It is unmistakable that Nikki is a superstar on every level. So beautiful to look at, but sort of a disarming beauty, such a smart and fun person. The kind of show that's perfect to watch for fully developed humans/adults. Remarkable performance by an actress/comedian you can tell could do anything. I recommend this very highly if you can stomach the dirt, which is really just the reality we all live, so live a little and go watch Someday You'll Die! ;p.

It's not a comedian's job to be sensitive. However, it felt like in this comedy special, she went for the low blow of shock to make people laugh, and even so the audience response wasn't great.
I found her abortion comments distasteful to say the least. If I were a woman actively struggling to have kids, those comments would be even worse. Of course it was hyperbolic, but it still seemed too far to verbalize at all.
I understand that comedy is an outlet to examine the self, and it is a career that has to make a living. Just...maybe not all stuff that comes to mind should be written into your set.

Her performance on the Brady roast was good .... for a roast. But her new special is on the other end of the spectrum. She rambles on about kids forever. Beats her perspective to death without getting a real laugh. I mean, her laugh track does work fairly well.
If you are looking at witty comedy look elsewhere. It's just bashing-style comedy and facial gestures in order to solicit a laugh. I mean, it will work with the "I need comedy right in front of my face" crowd, but with people who are looking for wit and timing you will not find it here.
I honestly thought she would have progressed at this point, but she's going after the obvious observations. Maybe try her next one, but I'll save you the time I'll never get back ...skip.

Yes, she's dirty and she talks about things that might make people uncomfortable.. especially conformists/conventional people. She touched on so many things that I agree with. Her thoughts about parenthood/motherhood are hysterical and spot on. I think a lot of these bad reviews are from offended parents. Normally, I'm not a fan of female comics, but I feel like she's unusually genuine. If someone doesn't like all the adult subject matter.. I get it. I just feel like she's comfortable and honest on stage and it translates, for me....... I just love her, and find her to be insightful and so very funny.
