The sets used just seemed to fit there period around 1620 which added a lot in viewing.

At the first sigh, a version of "The three musketeers". With the difference than three , in this case, represents...one. For the readers of book, a decent serie inspired by the novel. For a part of public, a seductive mix of religion, plots, sentimental relations, secrets and noble serve of duty. Or good reason for remind "Aquila Roja". Each perspective is right but, real important, it is a good serie. The XVII century atmosphere represents the lead virtue and the inspired exploration of religious and political nuances - a real good point. So, "Capitan Alatriste". In different angle from the job of Viggo Mortensen.

The Adventures of Captain Alatriste is a Spanish TV series that, while falling short in several technical aspects, offers a fairly entertaining dive into the swashbuckling world of Arturo Pérez-Reverte's famous character. The sets are visually appealing, and the historical atmosphere is reasonably well recreated, especially considering the limitations of the show's budget.

One of the show's notable strengths is its fast-paced plot and its focus on entertainment over ideology-something increasingly rare in contemporary Spanish television. For fans of historical action and the Alatriste saga, it's a watchable series that adds new layers to a beloved literary hero, even if it doesn't quite achieve the excellence it aimed for.
