"Victoria Må Dø" emerges as a jewel of Norwegian cinema, masterfully combining elements of comedy and family drama under the steady direction of Gunnbjörg Gunnarsdóttir. The narrative weaves a captivating tale of two siblings, Hedvig and Henrik, who concoct a plan to rid themselves of their overbearing stepmother, Victoria, by hiring a hitman. Their idea is complicated when they pursue Carl, an immigrant that is very reluctant to undertake their assignment.
Gunnarsdóttir's direction is nothing short of brilliant, showcasing a keen eye for balancing dark humor with moments of heartfelt sincerity. The ensemble cast, including notable performances by Ine Marie Wilmann, Leo Ajkic, Mille Sophie Rist Dalhaug, and Sverre Thornam, brings depth and charm to this quirky narrative, ensuring that viewers find both laughter and empathy in their story.

Siblings Hedvig and Henrik take some rather excessive measures to deal with their stepmother Victoria, in this delightful comedy. The two kids Mille Sophie Rist Dalhaug and Sverre Thornam are just remarkable as the main characters, striking the perfect balance between mischievous and adorable.
This film has an abundance of funny situations and brilliant characters in a masterly unfolding story that works just as well for adults as children. The acting, cinematography, costumes, set design, editing, sound and music are all top-notch.
Writer/director Gunnbjörg Gunnarsdóttir is a gargantuan talent, with a very clear and exciting vision and a filmmaker it will interesting to follow in the years to come.
I highly recommend everybody to check out this absolutely phenomenal film!

Loved this movie. The characters were great and the story was hilarious! The turning points are refreshingly surprising, especially on how the children get the money to pay for the hitman. I also appreciate the scenography and costumes which seems to have been put a lot of thought into. This creates a colorful and fun universe, which also makes the plot more believable.
It's great to see filmmakers that create good content for both children and grown-ups, especially with an original story. The underlying story of how we treat immigrants in Norway is also great. There was so much laughter in the audience during the screening at the cinema, which made the experience of watching more fun.

While I expected a good movie I didn't expect one that would work so well for grown-ups while also entertaining the kids at the cinema.
I don't want to spoil anything and the synopsis should give enough details.
The characters are quite flawed (except the hitman which is more cast as being desperate) and this creates a lot of room for humour.
This is one of those hilarious European films that necessarily will be remade and polished by Hollywood into something mildly entertaining - just like "En man som heter Ove"(2015) became "A man called Otto"(2023). Watch this one at your earliest opportunity to be able to say that the original was better.

I've read and heard praise of this movie for being a dark family comedy, but the only thing which is dark here, is that this is made at all.
It's a completely unwatchable unfunny mess, with every actor told to do their worst. I've seen a couple of the actors before, and I know they can, but here they are obviously told by the instructor to act as awful as you can, and probably told them that kids will think this is OK anyway.
It's so dumb, that those sending money spent on this should be sentenced to jailtime, and i seariously hope that Gunnbjörg Gunnardottir is never allowed to make a movie again.
I've heard that people from Bergen is completely embarrassed that this movie is made in Bergen, and I completely get that. Having such a bad movie made even in a city like Bergen is something of a stain on the city.
Th plot here is that two very little charming brats wants their step mother killed off by any one they can find in the street. The find a guy and the awful story is over.
By the way the casting is also really bad, and i would say absolutely nothing here meets any kind of quality standards.
Do yourself a favor and warn everybody against watching this movie.
