I swear I am crazy about this movie. It is really better than manga. If you like a movie which romance, pure and funny, It's Karaoke. It is very famous in Vietnam so many people here to buy alot ticket to watch over and over. I love Satomi and Kyoji, I love their relationship because they are pure and alway respect each others. This movie belongs to Saito Jun(Satomi) and Ayano Go(Kyoji). Their performane is quite good. This is the first time Saito Jun debut but it is so impress me. I like the look in their eyes when they look at each other: romance but pure. I love Kyoji character: very humble and always respect Satomi even he is a teenager. I replay this movie and all clips about them everyday. Can't stop thinking about them.
As a comedy movie, it's pretty perfect.
It's packed with a lot of slightly absurd and funny moments, and you have to accept that to fully enjoy the film. The characters are quite likable, and watching a middle school kid interact with a group of gangsters is really entertaining, though Satomi's attitude toward the choir is a bit baffling. Meanwhile, Kyoji's constant focus on Satomi and his motives are hard to figure out, but that might just tie into the movie's overall absurdity. If you don't dwell on these details, you can enjoy the work even more. Setting those aspects aside, the interactions between the two of them are also very delightful. Especially Kyoji's tolerance and protectiveness toward Satomi-it makes you feel genuinely happy that they found each other.
Overall, while some parts might not align with reality, the premise is undeniably captivating. The visuals also carry a strong Japanese vibe.

And now for something completely different...
The premise of this movie is completely bonkers, but it makes it fresh and somehow it works. There's a little too much yakuza scariness and the soprano choir colleague was a little too extra for me and the prank that Kyouji pulls on Satomi is cruel and unnecessary but it all somehow works. Also, the actor playing Satomi has the perfect face for it. The character is also constructed as mature for his age, which works wonders for the dynamic. I mean the movies they were watching damn... some of these I have only recently watched myself.
Anyway, very refreshing. However I can't believe I saw the label BL for this on some sites. I mean, people's minds... Although come to think of it what is a grown man doing hanging around a 14 year-old? I told you it's bonkers, didn't I?
There's a short but satisfying scene at the very end, after the end credits. I almost missed it, only I was too lazy to get up. Be sure to wait for it.
