The piece handles a nightmare of so many. You get a miserable neighbour that ruins your life by just being an absolute bell end.
While the portrayal of disturbance and gradation works well, with occasional artsy depictions of the main characters turning more and more mad, I can't help it but leave the cinema thinking: Wait, what?
The plot stays fairly flat, and you hardly develop deeper emotions beyond basic sympathies. Acting is good, but suffers from a simple script. Audio, especially during phone calls, tends to be a bit poor, so I had to unusually lean and focus so I hear what's said. Importantly, the somewhat predictable unidimensionality of the characters, places and events is only disturbed by good camera and some suspense. That's not good enough, I'm afraid.
If you find the description of plot interesting and suffer from an off-season poor choice of films like me, maybe go for it. But personally, it's a film I won't remember I've watched when I wake up tomorrow.

Just Got Out of a Screening of Restless
What an Engaging Watch From Beginning to End.
Things i Liked about the Film -
⏩🐌 - The Build of the Film was Excellenty Crafted. The Film Ramped Up to an 11 the Moments that needed To Be Ramped Up and the Film Slowed Down to a 2 when the Moments Needed to Slow back Down. And this Happens Multiple Times Throughout the Film.
📜 - Moreover, Coupling that build with the Plotline, the Resolution & Conclusion made for a Very Engaging Watch(in my opinion).
💭 - Also, the Visually Symbolic Exemplifications were Precise & Brilliant Additions to the Film(The Bed by the Sea⛵, the Lamps Pulsing in her house as she seems to be losing it, the Red Light, the House Ceiling Beginning to Literally Crack (which was actually really happening))
😨 - That Horror Segment was another Excellent moment. The Quick Cuts with Completely different Body Movements as she fears for what could happen after a specific moment, again, the Artistic Expressions that are throughout the film are Great Additions.
🤦 - Onto that moment, what the hell was she thinking? There's a Specific Scene at around 50 minutes in that whilst watching, I thought to myself "This is going to be a Cataclysmic Decision". You will know the scene when it happens. Like who else would of Sabotaged the Equipment?
👌 - Near the End, i was thinking how are they going to wrap this up? And the Conclusion we Got was Just About Spot on. It wrapped it up Perfectly.
Overall, a well thought out and Put Together Film.

"Nicky" (Lyndsey Marshall) is a mild-mannered nurse who likes nothing better than a bit of classical music or the snooker on the telly. Her son has moved away and her parents, who used to live next door, have died. It's that vacant property that soon proves to provide the bane of her life when a new neighbour moves in - and boy does he like to party. She tries to persuade "Deano" (Aston McAuley) to tone it down a bit - even offers him some hand made chocolate (?) brownies, but he has no intention of behaving himself like a civilised person and soon she is at her wits end. Sleep deprivation, reduced to catching what she can in her car, even contemplating staying over with her well meaning (and expectant) old friend "Kevin" (Barry Ward) but this cannot go on. What can she possibly to do bring him under control? Well, you know what they say about a woman scorned? Well, keep her awake for long enough and muck about with her dog and you are bound to find out! Marshall works well enough as the put-upon character but the writing here is lacklustre and the audio mixing is downright poor at times. As the film proceeds, her desperation starts to lose it's potency and the story doesn't really get to go anywhere, it loses the little semblance of dark humour it had at the start and becomes something a little awkwardly implausible to watch. The denouement gives us a great example of fighting fire with oil, but this really just comes across as a good idea for a short feature that's over-stretched to ninety minutes. Does make you appreciate a good night's sleep, though!
I had been looking forward to this one ever since I saw the trailer on YouTube. Maybe my expectations were too high, but the whole thing just fell flat. Still, I stuck with it, hoping it would pick up. Instead, it veered so far into the absurd that it lost any sense of believability. The writing didn't do it any favors either, clunky, uninspired, and completely lacking the tension you'd expect from something marketed as a thriller.
The premise had real potential, but it never felt fully realized. I've had my fair share of sketchy, loud neighbors, so on that front, I could relate. But I kept waiting for the story to take a darker, more gripping turn, something that would make the desperation feel urgent or earned. Unfortunately, that moment never entirely came until at the end and even then it was just.. there. Sadly won't be revisiting this one.

Just seen restless at an unlimited viewing . Had read a little
Bit about it so decided to check it out . Do love a good British gritty drama and this film does not disappoint .
A recently orphaned middle aged lady whose son is at university . After her parents dying new neighbours move into the council house next door (also her parents old house ) the neighbour from hell. Loud, obnoxious, drug taking , loud music and lots of alcohol seems to be his life . And underage sex . New neighbour makes her life hell . Some great scenes and some real Insight into how situations can stress you and make you react how you normally Wouldn't . Defo worth a watch.
