Kay Kay Menon ! I am his fan so no words to describe his acting. In the begining you may find it boring or stereotype but my friend wait till the end there are many surprises. I was not happy with the name but it was justified so well. Overall everything works so well in this series. Direction, acting and most important the series is based out in 90s and they have shown us with very low budget you can create such a wonderful series.
I would love to watch Menon again in such roles and I hope BBC will continue to produce another part of its there.
Lastly, if you love crime solving series, this is for you. Please don't compare with Benedict's Sherlock home and enjoy over Indian espionage Mr. Menon.
Go for it !! That's my word.

Smart, quick witted and desi adaptation of the Sherlock series. While one constantly keeps the comparison on the back of the mind all the time, this is quite well written despite the tall standards it has to live up to. Kay Kay Menon does a phenomenal job. Though i would have preferred a younger lad to don his role. After a long long time one can really look forward to a desi sleuth series next edition.
The 90s setting, the Bengali nuances and the top notch characters written for the supporting roles as well puts this as an interesting one to binge watch. Each episode is quite different and yet seamlessly blends and transitions from the previous one. And the plots are well written to make it believable in the 90s setting.

All aspects are good , Directions, screenplay, & story.
Kay Kay menon was just outstanding with his best performance and the role is perfect for him.
Supporting roles also were good enough Only one negative is the screenplay sometimes feels lengthy and boring.
The climax scene was too dramatic.should have shown a lil bit downfall of snehashish(shekhar) for sometime and then could've shown the climax scene.
The ending clearly gives a glimpse that a 2nd part may come that was good.
Over-all the time of the series is okay not too short not too long.
Background score was outstanding and the string music was perfect with each scene.

I have yet to watch the original BBC Sherlock Holmes story on which this Indian adaptation is based; therefore, I would humbly refrain from drawing any sort of comparison here.
Although I'll gladly admit I have taken a liking to the cast selection here. Kay Kay Menon as Sherlock, aka Shekhar, offbeat yet a genius persona was spot on. We all know he's a capable actor, and he did perform to his merits here.
The same remark applies for Ranbir Shorey too for he had gelled well as Shekhar's witty and inquisitive partner in investigation.
As for the format, whilst the first four episodes are treated as mini stories, with different type of crimes and their varying resolutions, last two acted as critical junctures to Shekhar's mysterious handlings in the past which led him right into a bigger conspiracy.
Suffice to say, I liked the concluding episodes better, primarily because they had more depth and material to show for.

When I watched first episode, I was not that hopeful and it took some effort to continue. Having watched so many Sherlock adaptions already, this one felt unnecessary and KK appeared to be out of role and overacting. But as series progresses, you not only adjust to his style of acting, you also start to appreciate the background, the 90s setting and all the characters.
The stories are all adapted from original Sherlock stories but have that Bengal touch to it that still gives these stories some unique flavour.
The climax is good and though it starts to become obvious as end nears, it's definitely not entirely predictable and manages to throw in a good surprise.
I definitely recommend this series for anyone looking to enjoy a series during a relaxing evening.
