This show is intoxicating. The script is funny, witty, and warm. The main characters have great chemistry and all the side characters all add their own appreciated flavor.
Kristen Bell is one of those actresses that makes the best choices for what she participates with and takes on, and this is no exception. This is a story that makes you want to be apart of their world. Adam Brody's character is like Seth but 20 years later- grown up, mature, and still charmingly funny.
I sincerely hope they renew the series and keep giving us more great content. One of my favorite light comedy shows of the year!

I was swept away in the romance and definitely binged this series. There was a lot of great writing, pacing, and acting; it was easy to fall in love. I agree - the rabbi is hot. : )
However, I felt a nagging discomfort with the portrayal of Jewish culture. Some innacuracies were just annoyingly jarring, like the Chanukah menorahs that kept appearing everywhere - his parents entry gate - for real? Or the vast wealth his first- generation immigrant parents had somehow amassed. Some, though, were more repellant, such as the constant use of the term, "shiksa," which is really not a nice thing to say. If I was around people who were earnestly using that term to describe someone, I would not want to hang out with them again. Adding to the offense, the first time the word is used, it is projected with scorn at a stranger based simply on how she looks. Repeatedly in the series, non-jews are identified by their blondeness. As a blonde Jewish woman, I am familiar with this kind of 'but you don't look Jewish" ignorance, but it doesn't come from within the Jewish community.
At best, these discordant elements felt under-researched; at their worst, they felt pandering and reliant on outdated racial stereotyping. I would love to see this improve in a second season!

I've just binge watched the series. Genuinely funny, and captured many essences of Jewish family life. Cleverly done, with great characters and acting. Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, and the other key characters were great, particularly Noah's Mum (the quintessential Jewish matriarch), Joanne's sister, Noah's brother Sacha, and Sacha's wife. Really hope there's a Season 2 to explore Joanne & Noah's relationship further, and see what the future holds for both of them personally and in their careers. I feel there is room for character development for both of Joanne's parents, especially her relationship with her father.
I am a huge Kristen Bell fan and this show is great.
The writing is fun and smart, the chemistry is real and the casting is perfect.
My only real regret is that the episodes are only a half hour. I am already done 6 out of 10.
Adam Brody is great in his role and the writing for his character is a smart evolution.
On a slightly different note, I would like to say that I have noticed that a lot of my favourite shows lately have been from Netflix. Whether it be this comedy or the Turning Point the Bomb and the Cold War documentary, they really have upped their game.
Once again loving Kristen Bell as always. I wonder if there will ever be a The Good Place movie or reunion? :)

I really loved this one! Romantic comedies always follow the same formula, but this one has a lot of strong points - + I FELT the chemistry between the leads. It felt natural and harmonic. They played the characters so well! + The dialogue and relationships between the characters felt funny, witty and touching in the best way. + In a world that promotes representation, it's the first time that I saw a Jewish male love interest. I think it displayed beautiful and inclusive parts of the religion without putting it on a pedestal in any way. Great writing, great cast, and incredible chemistry made this a binge watch for me, followed by a quick search for "Will there be a season 2?". Loved this!
