I felt like I'm watching Sherlock Holmes x Hannibal x Tiger and Bunny...
The cases are kinda interesting. Some of the medical bit is kinda interesting but not really that mind blowing strange case... if you know what I meant.
I also don't like how they decided to cut the series. Instead of having one full episodes with case of the week, they love to finish the case in the middle of the episode and open a new one, resulting in a cliffhanger.
And honestly, I'm bit in and out on watching this. It didn't really grip me like partner in crimes but the main characters (the boys) has such nice bromance going on that I keep watching.
I would have dropped it if not for their Tiger and Bunny personality, and the other characters. They were fun to watch (the pole dancing ex-wife, the female captain). Good casts, mid story.

This drama was a constant coin toss for me, swinging between great and bad throughout, this included the story, characters, jokes, and, in particular, cases. Every case related to one or multiple subjects around neuroscience for the doctor to talk about, however, some subjects were poorly executed and questionable. These ones were totally forced and stretched thin just for the sake of including them. Other cases were actually interesting. The humor as well was a big hit or miss, especially with the male leads. The drama placed too much focus on the male leads while neglecting the remainder of the cast dynamic. On the other hand, the detective wife didn't fit quite well and it took until the last few episodes for her character to finally blend. The drama had its good moments with its witty humor but it lacked in many areas to be a solid drama.
I really love this K-drama series!! From the very first episode, I was completely hooked on the story, the characters, and the brilliant execution of the plot. The way the drama presents complex cases, unique investigative techniques, and psychological elements makes it incredibly engaging and different from other crime-related K-dramas.
I am a huge fan of K-dramas that fall into the genres of police investigations, prosecutors, courtroom dramas, and anything that involves intelligence, mind games, and strategic thinking. These types of dramas keep me on the edge of my seat, constantly making me think, analyze, and guess what will happen next. I enjoy mind-bending dramas that challenge my thoughts, and Brain Works is exactly the kind of K-drama that I have been eagerly waiting for!
The chemistry between the characters, especially the dynamic between the main leads, is one of the strongest points of this drama. The way they interact, solve cases together, and handle conflicts makes the series even more exciting to watch. The balance between intense investigations, psychological battles, and even moments of humor creates a perfect mix that keeps the audience engaged from start to finish.
One of the things that make Brain Works stand out is how it delves into the mysteries of the human brain, using neuroscience to solve cases. This concept is refreshing, unique, and thought-provoking. It's not just about catching criminals but also about understanding the psychology behind their actions. This adds an extra layer of depth to the storytelling, making it more than just an ordinary crime drama.
Because of all these reasons, I sincerely request the Producers and Director to seriously consider making Season 2 of this incredible drama! There are still so many possibilities to explore-new cases, new challenges, and deeper character development. The potential for more thrilling investigations and psychological battles is limitless.
For me, this drama is without a doubt one of the Top 10 K-dramas I have ever watched! The storyline is amazing, engaging, and truly unique compared to many other series in the same genre. It deserves more recognition and, most importantly, a continuation so that fans like me can experience more of its brilliance.
Please bring back Brain Works for another season! The story isn't over yet, and we, the fans, are eagerly waiting for more!

The plot was funny. And thrilling at the same time, but I was hoping for a better chemistry between the main leads, despite separately actors made great performances, was very believable, engaging and funny but the romantic couple has had zero chemistry, .
"Dr. Brain" was indeed very gorgeous but the fact that the character must be a person with traces of a psychopath, (and he did the most good looking psychopath the I've ever seen), made his character emotionless and unfortunately sometimes was annoying to watch his plot development. The chief police officer character wasn't engaging at all and I think it shouldn't be there. Is the same situation with couple but in his case the script overshadow a great actor.
Overall it's a interesting serie i recommended, but could be much more famous if this faults was adressed previously.

A dedicated and kind police officer Geum Myung-se (Cha Tae-hyun) inadvertently causes a famed but cold and indifferent neurologist Shin Ha-ru (Jung Yong-hwa) to lose his job. The neurologist later joins a specialist team set up in Seoul to solve cases involving rare brain ailments of which the detective is a member. The neurologist then plots his revenge against the detective whilst assisting in solving many weird and wonderful cases. There are other entertaining members of the team and some interesting cases that hold your interest so overall an ok watch even though the comedy often falls flat.
