Mask Girl

This is based on a webtoon and congratulations to the casting crew as they managed to get very similar actors to the characters. It is a story about a girl who has craved fame since childhood but because she does not meet the required standards of beauty of society she fails not only in her quest for fame but also her personal life. She comes up with the idea of wearing a mask in her internet videos and she becomes popular, but from this comes a downward spiral as her life falls into chaos. There are 3 actors who play mask girl and the timeline moves forward and back but is well worth sticking with it as it does have an unexpected twist. The series can move slow at times but once the pressure ramps up you are really tensed up until the end. Well written adaptation and superbly acted, very much worth a watch.

The show is interesting so far a few episodes through but is anybody really buying that this chick is some hideous monster ? I mean she's extremely pretty with a great body and supposed to be smart with a good job. Where is the undesirable parts about her.? I understand they needed to get someone and I guess she doesn't look like the prototypical Asian girl (again I don't see it) . The looks aside of the main actress it is pretty funny and is definitely not some of the real garbage Netflix has been putting out lately and passing for series. I'll stick around and stay put for the rest but man is she so not ugly .

Just want to share my thoughts on this Netflix gem - "Mask Girl." Trust me, this show isn't just your regular popcorn entertainment - it's like a rollercoaster ride for your feels!

Each episode is like a whole new plot, from office craziness to family stuff and a bit of dark humor. But here's the kicker: every character's the star of their own show. You see their side of things.

But what sets "Mask Girl" apart? It's the crazy uniqueness. This ain't your run-of-the-mill show,. It's like a mix of dark and gritty, with Twists. And the way they blend it all? Mind-blowing. Kudos to the writer for coming up with this twisted, mind-boggling concept.

It hits on a lot of things to reflect on which I liked. Dark side of obsession in so many forms really. The actors did a good job, the fact it is dubbed was nice as well.

It is pretty dark and brutal. Kind of over the top really. Prepare for a wild trip driven by the thoughtless traumatizing and traumatized spiralling everyone into the abyss.

It was a perspective I found sobering really. Some real pervs in this one. The online camming was really the least interesting part of the series which is what I thought it was going to be about. You will not guess where this goes, you just have to watch the entire thing.

This is another great Korean drama that is worth your time.

I had no idea what the story was going to be about and even as I was watching the show, I could not predict where the story would go.

I don't want to give too much away, but each episode is a unique point of view that progresses the plot and keeps the show fresh and unique.

The last couple of episodes bring to mind the early work of Park Chan Wook, which is never a bad thing.

I wish the US made shows like this, but it seems like Korea is producing far more interesting tv shows than the US.

I'd also advise watching it with subtitles rather than overdubs. The overdubs are never as good.
