"Rykter" had promise, but ultimately fell flat for me. Season 1 and 2 were almost perfect but the writers were unbelievable, they managed to completely trash this show. The storyline was confusing, with too many twists and turns that didn't always make sense. The characters were inconsistent, with motivations and personalities changing drastically throughout the series. It felt like the writers took what could have been compelling characters and actively worked to make them worse, sacrificing believability and depth for the sake of drama. The series' potential was squandered, leaving me frustrated and disappointed.
This is like if Euphoria was shot on iPhone.
I liked that it had very short episodes and Norway is beautiful enough to have nice scenery in the shots.
However, the characters are written really badly, and everything they do pisses me off and/or just doesn't make sense.
I get that it's a teen drama so the characters need to be insufferable, but so many of the stuff they do is out of character.
Third season is where this is enhanced, and a lot of people have complained about the turn the show took but it's not too bad in my opinion. It does lay the activism pretty thick on then though.
There are so many scenes that made me laugh unintentionally. It's so serious that it becomes a little silly, but I find that endearing ngl.
Overall, it's entertaining and surprisingly doesn't drag the way other shows do.

Like many, I first discovered this show through clips that fans have compiled. After watching as much of it as I could, I'm happy to have found it! I hope they release it further soon.
The show focuses on a group of teens in a relatively rural part of Norway, and really shines in terms of showing those teens as they develop - whether by bucking parents' expectations in the pursuit of your dreams, learning to dig deeper to find what you really want to do with your life, or taking the initiative to develop a new group of friendships after an abrupt move away from city life.
Highly recommend it for anyone interested in dramas.

I'm almost 40 years old, but anyway I really enjoyed this show (Seasons 1 and 2 I just watched) as the subjects they include are all important and some even relatively new for human kind (friendship, love between friends being stronger and more important than couple's love, harassment, drugs, social media, the importance of balance in all relationships -and of listening each others-, and of course, rumors). Highly recommended, as it's also a fresh, dynamic and fun show to watch. You end up understanding and caring for ALL the characters. Now, looking forward to Season 3! Greetings from Bogotá, Colombia.
Sadly I live in a part of the world that is so far removed from the rest of the world I only get to watch these 'foreign' shows when someone has the decency to down load them onto a platform that serves the entire globe.... I had the same problem with SKAM....but, thanks to them I have been able to watch many of these 'restricted' shows.
My goal is to live in a world that has no 'closets' of any kind....a world where all are free to love and be loved...not just straight, white, religious people.
It is shows like this that are having a massive impact on this dream...a dream that deserves to be reality.
The story line is strong, and as season 2 ep 15 shows us....fresh and different as well.
The acting is believable, enjoyable and relatable....which gives credit to the direction and crew.
Shows of this calibre are such a necessity to the overall functioning of a tolerable society that when one comes along with a cast that is this enjoyable to watch, acting a script that is this well directed does wonders for the future of humanity....one can only give shows like this praise.....
Well done, I look forward to the 3rd season....
