Ninguém é Inocente

I found the premise very interesting in that it deals with several possible problems with the justice institution as well as social prejudices.

I agree with other reviews in the series could be shorter. The subplots even offer other views of the problems and realities related to people with down syndrome and police corruption, when a bit too long and did not necessarily add to the story.

The acting portraying the different characters was admirable for the most part.

The misgivings toward people with down syndrome related to reality versus prejudices were enlightening.

It makes me think about how we still don't know enough about the syndrome.

We need to ask ourselves how much we really want to know versus what we want to believe in order to be more inclusive in our society toward people we perceive as different from the "normal".

Are we using our prejudices in order to do the minimum in terms to be fair and make a better life for those who need our support?

I don't mind admitting that I choked up once and blubbed once during this series. The beautiful, innocent faces of the otherwise-abled people taking part as actors are the lasting impression I shall keep of this production. More conventionally, hunky Gastón Salgado playing Tomy's brother was a feast for the eyes too.

My Spanish is nowhere near good enough to watch any series in that language, let alone one with Chilean accents, without subtitles and these are my only gripe. Salgado's character's nickname was Bekam but was rendered as Beckham in the subs. I don't know why, but it really annoyed me. The translator really should have checked properly.

The storyline was convoluted but the clues were there until all was revealed. Then it was a question of Inspector Enriquez getting the guilty ones busted and how.

There was no cliffhanger so I don't expect a second season. That's such a shame.

I watched this within a twenty four hour period and was avid after each episode to see more. Big recommend.
