The performances are outstanding, particularly from the lead actors, who embody their roles with raw emotion and authenticity. The cinematography beautifully captures the vibrant colors and textures of rural life, enhancing the film's thematic depth.
What sets "Jogwa" apart is its exploration of the jogta tradition-where individuals are believed to be possessed by divine spirits. This unique cultural context serves as both a backdrop and a catalyst for the characters' struggles, making the narrative rich and engaging.
The film's music is haunting and memorable, complementing the emotional arcs of the characters. Each song contributes to the storytelling, providing a haunting glimpse into their inner turmoil.
"Jogwa" is not just a film about love; it's a commentary on societal expectations, the clash between tradition and modernity, and the quest for personal freedom. With its compelling narrative and stunning performances, "Jogwa" deserves a solid 10/10 for its artistic merit and emotional impact. It's a must-watch for anyone interested in profound storytelling that resonates long after the credits roll.

Jogwa is begging for alms. The tradition is followed in some parts of rural Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. There people are the followers of Goddess Renuka or Yellamma (same person with different names in different regions). The person who beg for alms are devotees of the goddess who are given up by their families in the service of the goddess. These people form a cult and beg for alms and give performances in fairs.
This is a story of two fictional people in this real life cult. The performances by both the leads are superb. The music is great. Above all the story is so heart wrenching that you tear up constantly. A must watch film.

Before I start, Let me tell you, I don't write reviews generally because I think it is time consuming and not worth it. But when it comes to appreciating some great piece of art like this, I felt I should take some time and do the needful. You must have understood that I am going to praise this movie. You are right! This is one of the best movies I have seen including all the amazing Hollywood/Bollywood flicks. Story is new, dark, and extremely focused and does not lose the track at any point. The acting department holds some incredibly talented Marathi actors especially the lead actors Upendra Limaye and Mukta Barve. This is the best I have seen from Upendra. Direction is quite good. The locations and camera angles create the necessary darkness required by the storyline. At the same time shows some beautiful situations to support the love story. In the end, one cannot forget the biggest contribution - Music. Ajay-Atul has done an awe- inspiring job. I will recommend this movie to everyone any day!
