The Recreation of the English Deerhound

I have been recommended this film by a friend and I was certainly drawn in after watching the trailer.

I am not particularly a dog lover, however I am fascinated with the old English way of life. Mr Platts heritage was very interesting and the achievement in his breeding programme is truly incredible!

Its brilliantly narrated too and I will have to re watch as there is a lot of information in the film. I would certainly recommend to others!

Superb insight into David Platts lifetimes work and achievement to re-establish the English Deerhound. Endorsed by no other than Colonel Dave Hancock. Thoroughly enjoyable, highly recommend. David's vision and strive to achieve his goal is inspiring and something to admire. A must watch.

Most insightful documentary/ film my partner and I have watched this year. 100% recommend watching.

Had the pleasure of watching the premiere of this and thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.

The passion from David Platt and his work in recreating the English deerhound shines through and is matched only by the passion for story telling and filmmaking from Newmount Films.

Even when watching with little background knowledge into this area, I was instantly taken down the rabbit hole of rich history that left me wanting to learn more.

Would highly recommend taking the time to watch this and I'm looking forward to seeing what's to come in the future!

As an avid documentary lover this peaked my interest however having never owned a dog nor had any interest in dog breeding, this film was a wild card choice but found myself glued to it throughout.

The fascinating story gripped my attention in the first scene and the technical aspects were brilliantly animated allowing a full understanding of the complexities achieved. Educational and entertaining are often very hard to come by but this ticked every box.

The narrator is charismatic and articulate making it pleasing on the ears and eyes.

The film fuses together intriguing storytelling and adaptive filmmaking, making it a pleasure to watch multiple times, picking up new information and details each time around.

It's refreshing to learn about an astounding accomplishment by an ordinary man who showcases his humble attitude towards his passion.

Thought provoking and captivating I will definitely be keeping an eye on further documentaries made by Newmount Films.
