Overall just kind of...meh. It has an interesting concept at first, however it never really connected. Jokes are thrown at you every second but the vast majority of them fall very, very flat and the characters are pretty much one-note. It feels very safe and corporate. Unfortunately that has become the status quo for adult animation, but just because I expect something doesn't mean I don't want it to change.
I've seen some call this the "adult version of Gravity Falls" but if that would entail annoying characters, outdated humor, and the ugly animation we've come to expect from Fox, I think I'll stick with the non-adult version. It's disappointing that in a medium with so much potential as animation, we are constantly getting samey shows like this. They may take a different approach, sure, but they end up at the same destination.
I don't doubt that the show gets better but I'm not in the mood to sit through more of it.
The ONLY thing I actually liked was that hot dude with the parrot. I cannot remember his name but I liked his cheekbones and voice quite a bit.

It's not Bob's Burgers or Futurama but if you're a fan of adult animation it's a good time! It's stupid funny and that's the purpose of adult animation. I promise if you need something mind numbing after a long day this will cure that. It has a woman raised by bears, an imaginary skeleton, treenises, and so much more!
Some characters are very try hard and the humor does fall flat so I can see why there are a lot of negative reviews but Jon Hamm and Alan Tudyk really make up for it. It has great potential so time will tell if the show will be a cult classic or a 2 season failure. Just give it a shot.

Grimsburg isn't a good show by any means, but it's not terrible either. The show isn't very funny and a lot of the episodes in the first season feel like adult version of Scooby-Doo which is a problem because the show has no identity. The season finale was what an episode of the show should be like consistently because I like how it ties all the episodes villains together, but unfortunately it's not there quite yet.
There are actually some very good concepts and ideas in the show. I like the mom being "raised by bears" and how it shapes her character, which make for some interesting subplots. It's kinda generic with the dad being lazy and fat and the other characters aren't really super interesting, but they are trying at least. And while I'm not a huge fan, I think it is definitely better than Universal Basic Guys for sure, no doubt about it.
I think they need to drop a few of the characters cause they're just not interesting and it would be a fine show. Season 2 apparently is gonna focus more on workplace comedy which will be nice in helping the show become it's own thing and not just a "better" version of Velma. Looking forward to seeing improvements but wouldn't be surprised if it's kind of the same.

Grimsburg is the strange tale of a detective, returning to the force in a town where every murder is a surreal experience. His ex-wife was raised by bears, and his son has an imaginary friend, Mr. Flesh (one of two roles filled with gusty by Alan Tudyk).
Make no mistake, this is no Archer. Marvin Flute is a thoroughly disagreeable human being (okay, that part is like archer) whose sole thoughts revolve around himself (and... again, much like Archer) and he is oddly good at his job (wait, is this Archer), but the cast surrounding him is equally as strange and tend to be less qualified than he is (huh... kind of like Archer).
Alright, so comparisons can certainly be made, but the feel of the show is different, despite those similarities.
The show feels more like a warped version of Twin Peaks... it is all about the people in the town, not the murders. None of the episodes are particularly grounded in reality, and much of the stories have a fever-dream like quality to them that sets the show apart from anything else on the air.
This is a show that will provide solid chuckles, but likely not belly laughs. Still, there are enough clever gags, nods, and Easter eggs to keep you entertained for a binge of the first season and into the second.
It isn't superb, but it certainly rises above mediocrity to be a decently good time.

I didn't care for the pilot although I didn't dislike it like many others seem to. It was just kinda meh and with a lot of what felt like forced humour.
~10 episodes later I must say it kinda grew on me. I'm not sure if the writing improved or I just had to get into the rhythm of the show but it's actually a good watch.
It's not on par with the juggernauts out there (Venture, Rick & Morty, Ugly Americans etc pp) yet but still an entertaining show with good talent. Just binch a couple of episodes to get into it if adult swim kinda shows are your thing.
I for one won't mind a 2nd season.

- CuriosidadesLike several other animated shows before this starting with Os Simpsons (1989), such as American Dad! (2005), Bob's Burgers (2011), and The Great North (2021), this show has an element of the title sequence that changes each episode, in this case it's Grimsburg's town slogan on the town sign/title screen.
