With such talented artists, this could have been so much better.

Also, 'A-rated' doesn't mean 'crass'. Look at Game of Thrones, it had its share but the rest was brilliant too. You feel like taking a bath after watching one of these. Also, this language is used by everyone. Usually, there are categories, like in 'Breaking Bad' - Walter White Jr. Will not use foul language, but Jesse would - because of his upbringing, which makes sense.

But in this, nope - everyone is in the 'A-rated' series, why not use it?

Positives - Venkatesh with his original voice speaking in Hindi Negatives - Slow and dis-oriented.

Well I didn't know Rana Naidu is a remake of Ray Donovan. So when i saw the teaser / trailer of Rana , i thought it would be a tale of a son and father who are pitted against each other where the father is hired to try to stop the son from his job. I expected terrific face offs and fight sequences but it wasn't to be.

Rana Naidu is basically a family crime drama where each character has a story of his own to showcase, from Rana Naidu to Naga the father to the youngest Jaffa, everyone's story is shown in this series. In between their own story lies the major one, the Rana Naga story . It's not what i thought. It's basically Naga trying to bring his family together only to find that there were secrets hidden from him and why exactly Rana hates Naga is the main story.

There's no sparks flying off like clash between Naga and Rana at all. I was dissapointed here. Just a mere collar holding and some threatening dialogues nothing else. Remaining series is only focused on others story and how the Naga Rana relationship moves .

It's a very slow moving series. The first 6 episodes are quite patience testing because there's not much happening at all other than world building. This where intense fight sequences would have helped but theres none other than sex. The last 4 is where the interesting parts start coming in and the series salvages itself a bit.

The series is filled with tons of slangs and sex, kissing scenes of all sorts . Definitely not a family series. One more thing to note, the series has no black and white characters, all have grey shades to their personalities. An aspect i liked.

Venkatesh was really enjoyable as the funny yet dangerous Naga . He seemed to be enjoying the role . Rana Daggu as Rana might not be liked by all considering his one stern expression throughout the series but you gotto understand, that was what his role or character was. Ashish Vidyarthi stood out amongst all. Man he was an absolute hilarious ride especially his journey from Hyderabad to Mumbai part was the best. Sushant Singh and Surveen chawla come together again after Hate Story 2 and they did a pretty good job . Abhishek Banerjee was also terrific as his character of a rape victim is extremely tough to play .

Music is good as well . My favourite being "Meherbaan", gave that retro Bollywood music feel.

Overall, a strictly one time watch series. Doesn't leave you excited even for any more seasons.

The Story line is really weak. With so many Talented actors one could have made a scintillating series but story writers were HIGH it seems.

Following are the points which I thought made it really weak -

1) Sometimes the story is moving too slow and sometimes too fast.

2) There are so many sub-plots but the director missed to connect them at right moments and make viewers thrilled.

3) Hindu GURUS are always BAD, let it be Sacred Games or this or any other movie or series. Seems like the SAFEST TREND (saving their 'Sir' (Head) from 'Tan' (Body) )

4) Murdering in Public in a crowded city like Mumbai is so easy.

5) Unnecessary abuses makes it more 'attention seeker' for audience.

An adaption of the hit series" RAY DONAVAN" is about a family that seeks peace or eternity after doing a sinful act... Rana as a fixer does a splendid job trying to handle the pressure of high society crimes and compromising with the family seems to be a natural performer and his body language does play an easy act... On another hand venkatesh is a show stealer with his natural Hyderabadi dialect makes u strangle with his methodical acting another milestone in his career despite being criticised for his abusive language his presence makes u more love for the series... Surveen Chawlaa shines as a true mother and caring wife...The rest of the characters did a splendid job... Despite sexual scenes and foul language, this series does an impressive weekend entertainment not to be missed.

Acting was good...like both the lead actor specially senior rana sir..after such a long time.

It was pleasure watching him. His comic timming acc to the script was perfect.

But I feel it was over use of profanity and vulgarity... Reset I dnt know...my wife didn't finished the series...for her it was bakwaas..she didn't liked it at all.

She was like kehna kya chahte hain...banaya hi kyun hai.. The ain't any such series on OTT with that much profanity.. kids are growing now, they have all the access of OTT on tv sets these days... Dnt use that much profanity.. Hopeing to see much better content.
