Terminator Zero has become a global hit on Netflix. Created by Mattson Tomlin, the animated series is set a day before Judgment Day as a scientist developing an AI system to rival Skynet is pursued by a robot assassin, while a soldier from 2022 is sent to protect him. Terminator Zero's voice cast includes Timothy Olyphant, Rosario Dawson, Andr Holland, Sonoya Mizuno, and Ann Dowd. All eight episodes were released on August 29 to coincide with the in-universe date of Judgment Day.

Now, Netflix's new Terminator series has become a global hit on the streaming service. For the week of August 26 to September 1, Terminator Zero season 1 ranked sixth on Netflix's Global Top 10 for TV (Non-English) with 1.7 million views and 6.4 million hours viewed. It ranked ahead of the shows Baby Fever, Romance in the House, and Back to 15.

Netflix's Back to 15 chronicles Anita's complex life as she travels through time. 

The hit Brazilian series sees Anita using a website called Photoblog to time travel so that she can improve her life as well as the lives of her friends and family. 

One of Anita's romantic interests in the series is Fabricio, a guy she initially never liked because he was dating her sister, Luiza.

Back to 15 is the kind of franchise that does not go much into the intricacies of the sci-fi elements, but rather focuses on the emotional aspects. But in season 3, we saw that Anita got stuck in a time loop, and because it was such a one-off situation, she didn’t know what she was expected to do or how she could come out of it.

Back to 15 seasons one and two established the fact that this teenage time travel story is here to stay. Clearly the first two were successful; that’s why the third season is now out for everyone to stream. The show follows the life of the young girl Anita, who juggles the past and future to set her life right. Sadly, things do not work the way she wants, even in this season. The third season of Back to 15, released on 21st August 2024, is the continuation of the time travel escapades of Anita and her friends.

The third season began with Anita being unable to delete her profile on Photo Blog, which led to her being dragged back to 2009, when she was in college. She is still surrounded by the same group of people except for two new faces, a fine arts student named Filipa, and a new roommate named Jessica.

Back to 15, season 2 ended with Anita and Fabricio getting close to each other when the latter arrived at her place and did something that she didn’t expect him to do. Fabricio was attracted to Anita, but probably because he had dated her sister for a brief period of time; he didn’t know if she would be comfortable if he expressed his feelings to her. Anita had deleted her Photoblog account as she was just done with this whole time travel business. For once, she wanted life to surprise her, and she just wanted to live every moment as it came. After season 2, I thought that the makers wouldn’t extend the franchise any further, as the narrative had already started to feel a bit stretched by the end of season 2, and it felt like the writers didn’t really have anything left to say. We had seen in the previous seasons of Back to 15 that Anita wanted to stop time traveling once and for all, as she had realized that in the process of going back and forth in time, her life was getting messed up. There was a new character introduced in season 3, named Filipa, and she had an important role to play in the large scheme of things. Glaz Entretenimento, one of the fastest growing outfits in Brazil and Portugal, and global company Boat Rocker have struck a co-production-distribution deal on fantasy mystery TV series project “Human Nature.”

Created and executive produced by Denis Nielsen, with Joe Mallozzi (“Stargate Atlantis”) attached as showrunner, “Human Nature” marks Glaz’s entry into English-language TV drama production.

Inspired by real-life facts, the TV show is set at an Azores surfing event. There, a young surfer discovers strange occurrences in his seemingly idyllic island community as competitors suddenly begin to disappear.

Maggie Malina (“Promised Land”) and Glaz Entretenimento’s Business Director and Producer Carolina Alckmin are also set to executive produce.

First debuting on Netflix in 2021 and releasing its second season in March 2023, the fantasy series Invisible City, created by Carlos Saldanha, has been announced not to return for a third season.

Numerous Brazillian X accounts were Tweeting about the show’s cancelation, but most didn’t name the source. Thankfully, we dug and found that the actor Marco Pigossi was ultimately behind the cancelation news. Pigossi plays the main character, Eric, in the show.

In a post on Instagram on December 16th, the actor doesn’t explicitly say the show was canceled but does bid farewell to his character.

Netflix has a lot of new and returning shows hitting the streaming service in the months ahead, and new teasers have been released for several of them. Viewers will soon see new seasons of The Witcher (season three), Outer Banks (season four), You (season five), Heartstopper (season two), Emily in Paris (season three), Cobra Kai (sixth and final season), and Love is Blind (season five), as well as new shows 3 Body Problem and One Piece.

Netflix’s 2023 edition of Tudum, hailed as a “global fan event,” will roll out the virtual red carpet for Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Zack Snyder, Jenna Ortega, Penn Badgley, John Boyega, Nicola Coughlan and more when it kicks off on June 17.

The streamer announced on Thursday that the event will feature first looks, trailers, news and announcements for upcoming original films and shows like Snyder’s sci-fi epic “Rebel Moon,” “Bridgerton,” “Queen Charlotte,” “The Witcher,” “Squid Game,” “Wednesday,” “You,” “Emily in Paris,” “Stranger Things” and “3 Body Problem.”

The two-hour livestream will take place on YouTube, but will also be happening live in front of “thousands of fans” in São Paulo, Brazil. It begins at 1:30 p.m. Pt/4:30 p.m. Et on June 17 and runs through June 18.

Netflix has officially announced the details for the fast-approaching 2023 iteration of Tudum: A Global Fan Event.

This year's Tudum is set to take place on Saturday, June 17, with the event livestreaming from São Paulo, Brazil starting at 1:30 p.m. Pt/4:30 p.m. Et/5:30pm Brt. Fans will be able to tune in at YouTube.com/Netflix for "exclusive news," as well as "never-before-seen footage, trailers, and first looks of your favorite series, films and games." To that end, a number of Netflix actors and creatives will appear live in Brazil, including Chris Hemsworth for Extraction, Gal Gadot for Heart of Stone, Henry Cavill for The Witcher and Zack Snyder for Rebel Moon, not to mention the entire main cast of the upcoming live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Heitor Dhalia, one of Brazil’s foremost and most ambitious movie auteurs, director of “Drained,” “Adrift” and “Bald Mountain,” is teaming with Netflix to make “DNA do Crime,” a banner title for the U.S. streaming giant in Brazil, one of its largest international markets.

Described by Dhalia as “one of the biggest series ever produced in Brazil,” the eight-part scripted skein, which goes into production on Oct. 31, turns on a heist of epic proportions, which takes place on the Brazil-Paraguay border.

When federal police officers are called in to investigate, they discover “the beginning of a thread that unravels, like no other, the construction of crime in the country,” the synopsis runs.

“The series will try to open a new paradigm for the genre,” Dhalia told Variety. “It also talks about the tragic flaws in all of us, our deep nature,” he added.

Inspired by true events, “DNA do Crime” is created by Dhalia.

Sao Paulo’s film and audiovisual body Spcine has greenlit the second cash rebate programme offering 30 and increasing available funds fourfold to 8m.

The joint venture between the city and state government will support national and international film and TV productions that film in the city. Wednesday’s announcement (May 18) comes after the first rebate allocated funding to two high-end series and a film and is said to have supported 14,000 jobs.

In a breath-taking plot twist, the health of Brazil’s indie production sector of films and TV shows has turned from the worst crisis in 30 years to an unprecedented boom.

The growth is fuelled by commissions from streaming platforms such as Netflix, local Globoplay, Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max, and most recently the “resurrection” of federal incentive body Fundo Setorial do Audiovisual (Fsa).

“We never produced so much in the history of Brazil,” helmer Paulo Sergio Almeida, head of film marketing and research firm Filme B, told Variety.

The scenario today is radically different from the one in 2019, when the National Cinema Agency (Ancine) virtually paralyzed funding for the Fsa, by far the main local incentive. The Federal Accounts Tribunal (Tcu) dictated the halt, due to alleged inadequacies in Ancine’s system of audit expenses of productions subsidized with Fsa coin.
