This film is smart and fun to watch. Its sort of like a great mystery, that keeps you guessing until the final revelation......... Nonetheless, Its firmly entrenched in the Horror genre. Lots of creepy moments that encapsulate the feel of loneliness and isolation that we all went through during the height of the pandemic. The characters are cool enough to root for & questionable enough to doubt... I really love how they vacillate between really disturbing to understandably sympathetic..... They're human beings, trekking through a world that is desperate. I'm sincerely impressed by what this team was able to accomplish and hope its the first of many films for them. I'll certainly watch more of what they create.
Creative title with a very creepy premise this was a well crafted story with solid performances. Beautifully shot especially considering this was made at the height of lockdowns. Excellent work here so if you dig a claustrophobic thriller this is for you!
A really nice indie thriller set during the pandemic that slowly builds the suspense and doesn't let up. Very atmospheric. The slow burn suspense is definitely enhanced by the cinematography and music. Both are extremely well done. And the interesting way video chats and on screen texts are displayed, truly elevates this from the usual low budget fare.
Admittedly, I'm a sucker for "contained" and isolation films and so may of them fall short and are just plain boring. But this one works really well on all levels. The story, the music, camerawork and direction... recommend this one. It won't disappoint!

From the dread-laden opening chords and the menacing shots of rusted pipes, it's clear we're in for a tense and unsettling tale. Extramundane plunges us into the life of Trevor (Brant Rotnem), who takes on the role of property manager at a disturbingly eerie apartment complex amid a pandemic. As Trevor navigates his new job, he grapples with the loss of his father and the mysterious disappearances of various tenants.
The film is saturated with mystery, keeping the audience on edge as it unravels its dark secrets. The cinematography is leeched of color, providing a gritty, almost oppressive feel that perfectly matches the film's tone. The sound design and score are particularly effective, heightening the tension and drawing viewers deeper into the narrative.
While Extramundane includes several slow-burn dialogue scenes, it's the direction and cinematography that truly shine, keeping audiences glued to the unfolding story. The film masterfully combines its visual and auditory elements to create a haunting atmosphere that lingers long after the credits roll.

If you're looking for a good movie to watch in the dark, this is the one for you. I definitely recommend it. It leaves you wanting more at the end. Hopefully there is a follow up.
