Unsellable Houses

...somebody please halve the running time of this show so that I give it an eight rather than a four! This is a good example of a show that has an innovative idea and then dilutes the outcome with so much "stuff" that it becomes boring in parts. No one wants to see the kids learning to drive, or the family photos. We want to see how unsellable homes transform into homes that command multiple offers and higher than listed prices. Ladies- please- less IS more!

Overall I like the girls, mostly when they are quirky, and at their humorous best, but not at all when they are bossy and bullying. They seem to be poor listeners with employees, but nice to the clients. They definitely do help people who can't afford to do renovations to sell their dated houses, but I feel as if they may be gouging their clients:

1. Splitting profits is questionable at best. Would I split the profit on a home sale with my contractor after I already paid him for a renovation?

2. Already getting commissions for sale 3. Selling Lamb and Co merchandise for staging 4. HGTV episode payments 5. Likely getting a cut of renovation labor and materials fees A lot of this is justifiable, but as a whole seems to be taking advantage, especially number 1.

I don't like it.

I loved the first 3 seasons. Then, they format changed in S4 and now it's not really about Unsellable Houses. They lost their uniqueness. They've started focusing on being realtors and helping people do renovations. Helping people find new homes or just updating their current home is NOT the point of the show!! I can see that anywhere. Please go back to the original format. I'm watching reruns instead of the new episodes. And as with most of these type of shows, they spend way too much time on their personal lives. I don't care about their grandfather's birthday or want to see them give a son a housewarming party. Come on! Show more of the renovations and not your family lives. I don't want to see you get your nails done. Sigh.

I recently watched an episode where you worked on Pam And Jeff's house. In the episode Lyndsay refinished a door using stripper. She wasn't wearing a mask. That led me to share this cautionary tale. My mom was recently diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. She never smoked a day in her life. She did own a refinishing and antique company for a few years about 30 years ago. She used stripper like Lyndsay, used stains, and sprayed lacquer. She never wore a mask. We are certain that she has the lung cancer because she didn't take precautions and wear a mask. Please always wear a mask and work in a room that is well ventilated. Encourage those you work with to do the same. My mom is doing ok but her treatment plan will take 3 years so she is not out of the woods. Keep up your amazing work!

How phony can you get? These twins whiz into a house and and redecorate and then sell it, splitting the profits with the owners.

It's all cosmetics. They never deal with any structural problems, roofs, leaking plumbing, etc. With a minimum of interior construction, the majority of their "work" is all smoke and mirrors ... or in their case, pillows and wall hangings.

And they talk and talk and talk. They might be even worse than that mother/daughter show. They don't actually DO anything.
