'Ignore It (2021)' is a short horror film about a family who are tormented by an evil entity and simply must ignore it to survive. However, not thinking about something is easier said than done, especially when it's lurking in the corner of your vision, gripping your shoulder tightly as its raspy breath pricks up the hairs on the back of your neck. After all, if I tell you not to think about an elephant, what's the first thing that pops into your head? The piece is atmospheric and relatively intense throughout, with a strong sense of foreboding regarding the inevitable failing of its focal family's plan. It's relatively simple, but it's executed well and features a handful of scary moments that capitalise on the suspense built by keeping the antagonist mostly off camera. The concept works as an allegory for a number of things, but interestingly the flick stops short of actually compounding any of its potential thematic underpinnings. I really thought it was going to be a commentary on the way in which ignoring or otherwise suppressing your emotions or mental health issues will always lead to disaster and that facing your demons is the only way to defeat them, but it ultimately takes a much more literal approach. Perhaps that's a missed opportunity, but the piece works well enough its more surface level and it's enjoyable throughout.
No pun intended - it is easy to say ignore it. It is quite more difficult to go through with it. We have a "traditional" family here - mother, father, daughter and son ... and they are stronger together! If they do not let outside influence divide them ... but are they able to resist? Well you have to watch to see (no pun intended).
Someone said, it reminded them of Greek tragedy and there is something to that. Following instructions was not always the strongest suit in the stories I know ... but made of great storytelling - at least tension filled. And the same is true about the short movie here - add to that great cinematography and you have a "winner" ... the acting is also up to the task ... and it is as short and juicy as it should be ...

Its realism is the basic virtue defining it. A family - the parents, two children. The advice of father to son about attitude at dinner. The well crafted tension, a hand of the shoulder of girl, the nerves enlarged and the fall of mother.
A great crafted last scene.
A demon who must be ignored. This is the axis of this film reminding, in form of parable, dark secrets of many families. The touch of Ancient Greek tragedy, the admirable acting of boy, the pressure and the reaction of father are the good points of this short horror about the things defining near reality in the profound sense. In short, just inspired work.

Another great horror short film by Sam Evenson, Ignore It certainly doesn't disappoint. The film tells the story of a family living in fear, as their home is also occupied by a malevolent spirit. To survive, they must follow one crucial rule: ignore the spirit, or it will turn violent-an outcome that would mean game over. But how easy is that when the terrifying entity lurks around every corner, trying to get their attention?
The film suggests that the spirit has been tormenting the family for a long time. It once left, but now it's back. The family's familiarity with its horrors raises many questions-what happened before? How did they first discover the spirit? And how did they learn that ignoring it was the only way to survive its presence?
The acting in this short film is excellent, and despite its brief six-minute runtime, it feels longer and has the quality of a professional-level production. In fact, those six minutes could easily be a clip from a full-length horror film.
I highly recommend Ignore It for a quick dose of chills and suspense.
