second part of Ringul. final parts of Moldovan/Miclovan series. or only the isolation of Sergiu Nicolaescu in his personal universe. it is easy to define it as a bad movie. many scenes are ridiculous, the acting is not exactly decent, the dialogues - fake and the script seems missing. different events in an exotic kilt of clichés. and only explanation is the desire of director to end his work , out of political pressure, in his manner, ignoring the public or critics. a kind of revenge. or only similarities with Ludwig II of Bavaria. not the eccentricity is the problem but the absence of a coherent story. Russian roulette and Zaraza. Moldovan and entire his universe in an Utopian Bucarest . Comunist jail and the past as clay for a kind of success. the fury to say all without create a message. result - a sad film . because it has not identity. only status of jokes of an old stand up performer from different period, front to an indifferent public.

Supravietuitorul is the kind of movie that shouldn't have been done but gets done after all simply because the main reason is "money",than the second reason :the fans.Some people would say ,we,the Romanians,make the most authentic movies around...bull...Authentic movies are done everywhere,it is the matter of the acting to make it so,and this one,was poorly acted.I am a huge fan of the bygone era of old fashion movies,but this one ,done in 2008 shouldn't have been out of sync with the voice never ever.I can't cope with that,it is simply annoying.There are actors that are good for Drama,and there are actors that are good for something else...the ones that are good for something else...again shouldn't have been in the movie.Unfortunately (for us) the cast was done not by the way people play...but by the way they used to...

Enjoy it as it is,don't expect to be more than a 5-6 ...

In Romania, Sergiu Nicolaescu's most recent detective flick revolving around the legendary character Commissioner Moldovan gathered the largest audience among all Romanian movies screened in 2008. "Supravietuitorul" ("The Survivor") was watched by almost 26,000 people and cashed over 300,000 RON at the box office. So, the public says it's the best movie of the year. Nicolaescu's movie is followed by "Restul e tacere" ("The Rest is Silence") by Nae Caranfil, Romania's nominee for an Oscar in the best foreign language film category. The best part of the movie is the part taking place in the 1940's Bucharest, the legend of the famous couple Cristian Vasile (singer, a VIP of the time) and Zarada (a gypsy girl). I recommend the movie to everybody.

Unnecessary, a sequel that only brings dishonor to the source material (the original movie wasn't a masterpiece anyway). It's full of bloopers and goofs and untalented actors and actresses, the plot is practically inexistent. But worst of all, are the stolen ideas, stolen from the movie The Deer Hunter, a movie that came out almost 40 years ago, he probably thought he could fool us, he probably managed with some of his older fans. One of the worst movies by Sergiu Nicolaescu, if not the worst, he made it just to add a few more couple of bucks to his pocket, which is a shame. He was probably too old and unfit to direct at that point but it's still no excuse. I do not recommend it to anyone.

There was an old joke about "Sergiu Nicolaescu movies" - "director Sergiu Nicolaescu, producer Sergiu Nicolaescu, lead actor Sergiu Nicolaescu, and with Colea Rautu playing Sergiu Nicolaescu" - it is now true!!! (Petr Falc instead of Colea Rautu but that does not really matter).

The movie is so awful that it could compete for the title of the worst romanian movie of the last 10-20 years - and the 10-15 seconds of nudity with Ileana Lazariuc can not save it no matter how gorgeous she might be ... (and honestly speaking she is).

The plot is non-existent, the story is totally stupid (basically in that foreign town you find like 80% of the population being of romanian origin, and almost all of them people that the hero knew from 30+ years ago - not to mention that the romanian gangsters kind of 'make the law' in that large luxury town).

The movie is also a huge 'family mess' - the singer was pushed for her relations with the director and not to be outdone we find two Mihaita so it was probably a failure before even starting to film on it ...
