It is always nice to find out a person's personal story; Family one being such case in this documentary. The remainder of documentary brings very little new. On and off viewers of RPDR already aware of large majority shown here of Katya problematic.
Trixie's off color humor is top three for me of RPDR queens gunning for Bianca Del Rio status. I am not a fan of Trixie's music genre heavily profiled here. Mad props for charting well with it, Have that talent to fall back on if needed. PS. I won't say who that appears in this documentary, but her doc is a must! 6/10

I rarely enjoy documentaries, but "Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts" was an exceptional experience that truly captivated me. When I think of Trixie Mattel, I usually picture her vibrant drag persona, and I often overlook the other aspects of her life and origins. This documentary provided a fascinating and deeply personal insight into the life of Trixie and the person behind the persona, Brian Firkus.
Watching Trixie's journey to success was truly heartwarming, especially knowing the challenges Brian faced along the way. The documentary delves into his struggles and triumphs, revealing the determination and resilience that propelled him to stardom. "Moving Parts" offers a glimpse into that arduous journey, capturing both the wild and emotional aspects of his rise to fame.
One of the most striking elements of the documentary is how it portrays Brian's vulnerability and humanity. Seeing him navigate personal and professional hurdles adds a layer of depth to the persona we see on stage. It's a reminder that behind the glitz and glamour of drag performance, there is a real person with a unique story.
I also want to commend the editors for their outstanding work. The documentary is polished and well-crafted, with exceptional editing that enhances the storytelling. The visuals are crisp and engaging, and the pacing keeps the viewer invested from start to finish. The high production value adds a great deal to the overall impact of the documentary, bringing out Trixie's personality in a new light and making the narrative even more compelling.
"Moving Parts" is not just a documentary for fans of Trixie Mattel; it's a powerful story of perseverance, creativity, and the human spirit. It offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at the challenges and joys of a beloved performer, making it a must-watch for anyone interested in the world of drag or the journey of self-made success.
I wholeheartedly recommend this documentary to anyone looking for an inspiring and entertaining watch. "Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts" is a moving and unforgettable experience that stays with you long after the credits roll.

This was a wonderful documentary. It provides great insight into the behind the scenes of the drag world. A lot of its insights probably ring true in other preforming arts and/or Hollywood industries in honestly. What hit me hardest was the interpersonal struggles Trixie and Katya went through. I've had a very similar situation with a good friend of mine and watching this hit hard. But at the same time watching other people work through something like this was so amazing and so comforting. We all think we're alone in our struggles but we're not. There's always someone who's been through it too. Overall, doc was great. When it was over I cried and texted my friends to tell them I loved them. Overall, if you like drag and feeling very bittersweet about life, give it a watch! I doubt you'll regret it.
Such a lovely and raw insight into the life of one of the most famous drag queens in the world right now. This documentary wasn't glitzy, wasn't glamorous... it was real. We never get to see behind closed doors of a famous drag queen's life, this documentary just gave me such a deeper understanding of Brian's life. It made me see how much he cares for people.
I also think it's so great how this documentary allowed us to see the up and down relationship between Trixie and Katya, because whild they're still both incredible on their own, as a pair their chemistry is just undeniably loveable. They're iconic! Seeing a darker side to Katya was really upsetting, but it also just highlights how much the pair have been through together.
Really loved this, It's given me a whole load more respect for Trixie Mattel.

Brian's true nature and talent really shines in this documentary. He's someone who truly cares for the people in his life and is a true friend. It's so refreshing to see someone in the entertainment industry who is authentic and real. This film follows Trixie through extreme highs and extreme lows and highlights just how strong and beautiful he is. Beautiful inside and out. I was never a fan of drag before I discovered Trixie. Moving Parts is the only film I've ever purchased online and it was worth every penny! If you love Trixie you will love moving parts!
