A Poor Kid's Guide to Success

I was browsing the net just looking for stuff, you know anything and on one of those days... I wasn't even looking for media to watch. Actually, I haven't seen an independent film in years. I don't watch my TV either because everything is predictable and blah, blah, blah.

Well, I stumbled across this movie and right from the start it captivated me. I was really involved and was routing for the main character all the way. The ending also surprised me and therefore it is considered in my view a very good movie. I really would like to see a part 2 soon and I hope these people get funding for more.

I hate predictable movies! This movie was really good! Therefore, Igive this movie a 10+ out of 10.

You really have only one thing in life, and that is your dream. Everything else seems to overwhelm simplistic situation with an over abundance of cluttered madness. This is the realistic aspect of the industry. How the social climbing is dragged into your artistic perception. This movie is for a real average Joe. One of the best Independent films I have seen in a long time. The raw traits and the plot is what makes this tale worth seeing. The main characters in this film are purified down to a morsel of a hope to achieve something, instead of being every other under-paid hard worker in this massive financial burden of a world. With out motion pictures like this one, we would have the same mundane dramatized stories repeating over and over again. It is worth the watch.

Every one wants to be the next Robert Rodriquez and show what they did for next to nothing. But what we're looking at here is not what is done for $10k. Like Rodriguez Thomas Dagnino apparently got a whole lot of people to work for free. Unlike Rodriguez he didn't have to buy, develop and print film.

Michael Sidisin's script is well written. Dagnino's direction is spot on. Camera work is pleasing and, thank God, steady. I get so freaking tired of shaky cameras. It's a bit dark at times. In fact it's almost all poorly lit. But that's about the only downside to the production values.

Acting, for the most part, is impressive throughout. Daniella Alonso put on a first class performance.

But the very first song in the sound track would cost more than $10k in licensing. So good luck getting distribution.
