MrBeast is back in our latest Gospel Stats Weekly Brand Report, chronicling a 100-hour journey through the Giza pyramid complex. While he did gamify the whole experience–and use it to promote his products at Moose Toys–he did capture the kind of footage most people wouldn’t be able to see otherwise, plus got an interesting historical walkthrough thanks to his Egyptian guide.

Fortnite players were taken aback when Epic Games introduced the option to choose one’s default skin prior to starting a match. Recently, the game launched Fortnite Og, a throwback mode that lets users experience the game as it was in 2017 when it was first released.

Billy Burke, best known for his appearance in the “Twilight” series of movies, is set to play the lead in upcoming horror thriller “Outbreak.”

The zombie genre film, directed by Jeff Wolfe who co-wrote the screenplay with Lance Ochsner, has now been acquired by Premiere Entertainment Group (Peg), a Los Angeles-based production, financing, and sales company, which picked up international rights.

“Outbreak” follows a state park ranger (Burke) in search of his missing teenage son who is confronted with zombie-like people carrying an infectious disease following a virus outbreak. Alyshia Ochse, Taylor Handley, Raoul Max Trujillo, Jessica Frances Dukes, Dani Oliveros, and Kylr Coffman round out the key cast.

WolfePride Productions’ Jennifer Wolfe and Jeff Wolfe produced the film with Kevin Matossian for SilverCrest Entertainment.

Premiere Entertainment has launched talks with international buyers on “Outbreak” at the American Film Market. Premiere CEO Elias Axume and acquisitions manager Lizzy Gonzalez negotiated the deal with the producers.

Quiver has picked up North American rights from Premiere Entertainment Group to the romantic comedy Plan B starring Jamie Lee from HBO’s Crashing and Jon Heder from Napoleon Dynamite.

Premiere is continuing international sales here on the story of a woman who gets pregnant after a one-night stand with her awkward neighbour and impulsively decides to sleep with a successful businessman to pass off the baby as his.

Charlie Corwin, the former head of Imagine Entertainment, will help Uproxx as it dives more deeply into the television and film space. The veteran executive is the first appointment to Uproxx’s advisory board. Ultimately, there will be four or five people on the board.

“The idea is that this will be a very active board filled with leaders from a number of different fields — technology, film, video, and branding,” said Benjamin Blank, Uproxx’s CEO. “We want people who can give us a 360 degree view of where media is going.”

Corwin and other board members will be compensated for their work, but Blank did not provide details about whether that will be in the form of salary or stock. The cause of death of Storm Chasers star Joel Taylor was revealed this morning five months after his passing. TMZ reports thatTaylor died from Mdma poisoning after taking ecstasy on a cruise ship, citing toxicology reports released by The Bureau of Forensic Sciences of Puerto Rico. In addition to ecstasy, traces of ketamine were found in his body. Taylor was found unresponsive in his cabin aboard the Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas cruise hours after ingesting the substances. He was soon pronounced dead by local authorities. Family and friends gathered Monday to honor the life of Storm Chasers star Joel Taylor, who died one week ago while traveling aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. Taylor, 38, was laid to rest following a funeral at the First Baptist Church in Elk City, Oklahoma, the Martin-Duggar Funeral Home confirmed to E! News. The Elk City, Oklahoma, native, who starred on Discovery Channel’s documentary reality television series Storm Chasers, died on Tuesday, according to his friends who shared the sad news on social media.

The cause of Joel’s death remains unclear at this time. It is not believed to be storm chasing-related.

Reps for the Discovery Channel did not immediately respond to a request for comment from People.

In 1996, the disaster film Twister was a mega-hit. It ended up being the second-highest grossing film of the year (behind only Independence Day), and it introduced an entire generation to the dangerous profession of storm chasers. Bill Paxton starred in the movie, and in honor of his tragic death this past weekend, storm chasers in Kansas and Oklahoma (aka "Tornado Alley") gave the actor a touching and creative tribute: using Spotter Network markers, they jointly plotted Gps coordinates to spell out Paxton's initials across three states.

Did you hear the one about the guy who willingly fed himself to an anaconda?

No, that’s not the set-up to a really questionable joke; noted naturalist Paul Rosolie literally served himself to an anaconda during Sunday’s appropriately titled Discovery special Eaten Alive — or, at least, he intended to.

Anticipation for the two-hour event had been building ever since the network announced it in November, but not everyone’s rally cries were of support. The most notable pushback came, unsurprisingly, from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), which chastised the entire affair as an act of abuse.

Last year in Oklahoma a famous father-and-son team of storm chasers were heard screaming, “We’re going to die! We’re going to die!” on a Highway Patrol radio moments before they were indeed killed by one of the savage twisters they’d devoted their lives to following.

Storm chasers are single-minded in their pursuit of danger, willing to risk all for the thrill of the hunt, and in the new movie Into the Storm, Matt Walsh plays just such a character. He’s Pete, a TV reality star who endangers his crew when one of the biggest storms of all time hits the rural town of Silverton.

While the subject matter is serious, behind the scenes Walsh was dealing with a comedy of errors he couldn’t help but laugh at. In the film his fortress on wheels is Titus, a storm-proof tank that can roll its way through anything.

Three veteran storm chasers died doing what they loved: roaming the Great Plains in search of dangerous storms like the one in Oklahoma that ended their final pursuit.

Tim Samaras, his son Paul and colleague Carl Young died Friday night when an EF3 tornado with winds up to 165 mph turned on them near El Reno, Okla. After years of sharing dramatic videos with television viewers and weather researchers, they died chasing a storm that killed 13 in Oklahoma City and its suburbs.

"It's something we've done countless times in the past and have done it successfully and safely," said Tony Laubauch, who was working with Tim Samaras' chase team Friday night. "And, you know, whatever happened on this one, it's just horrible beyond words."

Explaining his passion, the late Tim shared on his website, "I'm not sure exactly why I chase storms. Perhaps it's to witness the incredible beauty of what Mother Nature can create."

Former "Storm Chaser" star Tim Samaras, his son Paul Samaras, and colleague Carl Young died while chasing the Oklahoma storm on Friday, May 31.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Tim Samaras his son Paul and their colleague Carl Young. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families," Discovery Channel said in a statement.

Samaras' brother, Jim, posted a message on Samaras's official Facebook page. TheWeatherSpace.com reported on the trio's passing.

Discovery will dedicate the Sunday, June 2 special "Mile Wide Tornado: Oklahoma Disaster" to the trio's memory. They don't appear in the series, but the memorial card will read: "In memory of Tim Samaras, Carl Young and Paul Samaras who died Friday, May 31st doing what they love, chasing storms."

"Storm Chasers" aired for five seasons on Discovery Channel before ending in November 2011.
