Saturday Night Live: The Best of Will Ferrell

It's Saturday Night Live baby!! Oh my god, I have never laughed so hard in my life since Dodgeball, lol. The sketches of Will Farrell as Lucifer, Gus Chiggins, Cowbell person, the guy in the hot tub, lady with boxing gloves, naked cavemen looking guy who acts like he's drunk, and many more. The Lucifer and Gus Chiggins scenes were the best out of all of them. I fell down laughing so hard I about probably almost died. I am definitely going to buy this DVD of Saturday Night Live: Best of Will Farrell. This is by far one of the funniest things in life I have ever and I mean ever scene. Oh my god, you got to see this stuff. I'm laughing right now, just typing all of this.

Will Ferrell leaving the cast of SNL was a very big loss for the show. Without him, things just aren't as outrageous and not nearly as funny.

This selection of his best is one of those videos you don't mind watching over, and over, and over, and over again (as I did approximately 25 times) to the point where you find yourself quoting lines without even thinking about it.

Although some of the more memorable skits were left out, (i.e. Neil Diamond) there is plenty of great laughter on this compilation. From Inside the Actor's Studio, Harey Carey, Nude Art Model or Lucifer to George W, it's hard to pick a favorite character or skit because they are all so very entertaining. If you pick up the DVD or VHS, make sure to watch the extras...Ol' Prospector is unforgettable and Ferrell's audition tape is a riot.

Trust me on this one, if you like Will Ferrell at all you will love watching this just to see how many times he makes Jimmy Fallon crack up.

A must see(multiple times)!!

There is no doubt in my mind that Will Ferrell is a great comedian, and was perhaps the only good thing SNL had going for it for a while, but the sketches chosen to assemble on this collection are far from the best things Ferrell has done on SNL. Where's the bad doctor? Where's Bill Brasky? Where's Mr. Turkanian abusing on his employees while Peirce Bronson looks on in horror? Where's the Bush sketches that are actually FUNNY? There were tons of them, why pick that one mediocre one??

Did Ferrell actually get to choose what went on this collection? I'm sorry to think that future generations will think that this is the best that he came up with while he was on SNL.

If you like Will Ferrell, this is your Graceland. He is absolutely the funniest person on the planet right now. If you have the DVD, the extras bring even more to the table.

You will need to watch this over and over to appreciate all of his comic genius. The funniest bit of the show is his Robert Goulet CD pitch for "The Coconut Bangers Ball: It's a Rap". If you know who Robert Goulet is, then you will appreciate this even more. Don't forget to check out the DVD extras in which Ferrell appears as Robert Goulet for an entire segment on Conan O'Brien.

Ferrell's staples such as Harry Carey, Alex Trebek, Marty Culp (the Altadena Music Teacher) and Craig the cheerleader are all funny, of course. The producers did a nice job choosing the best of the best.

There are also unappreciated bits like the homeless man who poses nude for an art class just to make extra money; Jacob Silg, the man with Voice Immodulation; and one bit on the extras in which he plays as gold prospector..... awwwww peaches !!

I have never laughed harder for a continuous period. Buy it now !

SNL doesn't run new shows during the summer, so this show was a breath of fresh air (especially since I was trapped in a Austin hotel room babysitting my younger cousins at the time).

The special was very well done. It was arranged so well it kept me and my cousins entertained between the commercials. All of Will's best characters were there: Harry Caray, Robert Goulet, James Lipton (the "scrumtralescent" gag is immortal), George W. Bush, and the obligatory Alex Trebek.

Later on in the summer, SNL aired "The Best of Chris Kattan". While Kattan may be one of the best SNL cast members, his special was not as well done, and I was rather disappointed.

A must buy, if they ever release it on VHS or DVD.
