There is something quite charming about this game. The graphics, art style, voice acting and sound design in general, all add up to a wonderfully immersive experience.
Finding and collecting loot is so satisfying in this game, as it goes a long way to helping you on your quest.
The three playable characters provide very different experiences. The random generated dungeons also provide a great feeling of exploration into the depths with every playthrough.
Although the dungeons were fun, they were certainly unnerving on my first playthrough of the game. I found myself looking forward to the return to town, to chat with the villagers and learn more about the story, gain new quests and stock up on gear. Tristram really feels like a haven but the music keeps you on edge throughout. When I was younger I never felt safe in town.
The original diablo stands far above later additions to the series, which focus on character builds, collecting endless piles of loot and walking through tides of enemies.
No, Diablo 1 was all about the journey. A classic but engaging fantasy story of a hero's struggle Vs the ultimate evil. I wish more games had this horror RPG style.
Lots of action, with some RPG elements thrown in to make it more interesting. The game was designed to be almost endlessly re-playable. The whole fun lies in building up your character, making him/her more powerful, learn powerful magic, find better weapons & armor, and unique treasures which will help you defeat the demons & monsters of Hell itself.
By the way, although there are 3 character classes to choose from, I recommend playing the sorcerer. He is by far the best character in the game. He starts out the weakest, so you have be more careful than you would have to be with the warrior or the rogue, but eventually (after finding certain spells) he will become the most powerful character of them all. Besides, playing the sorcerer is also the most fun, since it allows you most control over the various spectacular magic spells.
BTW, read the manual. It's not only informative, as it should be, but it also provides lots of background info, which makes for great reading.
Beginning to feel a little scared I begin the feeling of Horror just in the first two levels it's kind of amazing how this game is still can be so terrifying maybe it's because it's so hard to see the enemies and the graphics are so dark and murky that it give me the feeling of looking into the darkness.
But sadly that feeling disappears and becomes one of tedium because this is the first Dungeon crawler of this kind and god damn it it's slow. I mean it is still atmospheric and nice but it's so slow, after rile my brain Just begin to scream after some dopamine.
What to see the most simple version of the formula they are using in the later games is still remarkable.
