"Moni is a magician but at the same time he lives as a thief too with the name of Bhagula Bhagat, whose prime agenda is to rob the rich, and spread the wealth with the poor. One day he meets with a young girl Soni, and both fall in love with each other. Things change for the better for Soni, when she meets her wealthy long-lost father, Daulatram, and goes to live with him. She decides not to break relation with Moni. When Moni attempts to find out why she has rejected him, she refuses to meet him. Then Moni comes to know that Soni is not who she claims she is, and definitely not the daughter of Daulatram, but the daughter of another wealthy man named Nandlal, who had died under mysterious and destitute circumstance.

Watchable and fast-paced Dev Anand-Hema Malini starrer with good performances from Prem nath, who chews up the scenery with his villainous portrayal of a rich man who usurped the wealth from Hema Malini's father. Though it's an action film, it has some meaning about the poor and rich. The only thing I didn't like was the hooded mask Dev Anand character wore when stealing jewellery, he made him look like a killer than a Robin Hood-like thief.

As a four year kid the song " Sonu aur monu... " Baith ja baith gayi... " Stayed with me for long time. This movie is entertaining with all the ingredients required for typical bollywood masala movies. The hero, the heroine, the villian , a mother. The heroine as imposter. Every thing you are looking for or expecting from bollywood movie. Entertainment guaranteed if you ignore logic which you have to even today. Dev anand though I did not like him even as a kid is quite good typical dev anand, Hema malini who was a craze called dream and I used to find her so beautiful as a kid is good which she was in most of her movies off that time but now all that impressions are shattered knowing the true dream girl after 2000.
