Vampires in an outback town is an interesting premise to begin with and this one is fun, but becomes quite strange. I am usually okay with strange but this really ramps up the bizarre.
It is reasonably well acted and the photography good, but you can see where the script seems to get a little lost in the antics. It does make for an entertaining watch. It is not the best Aussie horror out there, but it does stay in the memory for how different it is.
This is considered an Ozploitation movie which usually means, low budget but made with real dedication.. This is probably not a film for everyone, but it is fun even if a bit of an oddity.

This is definitely one of the most bazaar films I've seen in a while. If you like Comedy-B-Vampire Movies, put this on your list. I think the world need a bit more Aussie vampire movies!
Don't look for great acting, exciting SFX, think Rocky picture + Plan 9 from outer space meets the Munsters. The film has no real blood and guts, in fact I don't think any one actually dies, some great villains even a giant Vampire!
Sit back with some friends and have a good laugh, and enjoy a Campy little Indy file that actually has some great ideas and does not take it self to seriously.

I happened across this movie by accident on late-night television. Its very low budget is obvious from the start, when you're trying to work out if this is a horror or a comedy. Things just get more confused when the main characters meet the family of vampires inhabiting the strange abandoned house - I'm still not sure whether the characters and events making up the rest of the movie are the work of a surreal genius or of somebody who just couldn't be bothered with logic. Either way, I've never seen a film quite like it. I don't know exactly what audience to recommend it to, although connoisseurs of bad films will no doubt have a field day with it.
This movie was a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. I ended up really liking the character of Bronco who managed to get piss-drunk before all the vampire encounters which added a bit of fun to the concept of being stuck on a crazy other wordly vampire mansion.
I admit I surprisingly did laugh at loud a few times during the movie. Unfortunately though it really was lacking in some places. The special effects weren't great, and conceptually I think they could've gone way further in making the house crazy. I was hoping for something really trippy with it seemed limited to a little bit of walking on walls. I guess they just didn't have the budget or ingenuity to pull of anything bigger.
Still if you enjoy 80s camp, Australian movies or vampire movies this is an enjoyable one to throw on for sure.
