Future Cops (1994) was one of the last films that Wong Jing made using the STREET FIGHTER video game characters. This bizarre film that was written and directed by Wong Jing (fight direction by Ching Siu-Tung) is not only a violent affair but it's a hilarious end up of video games and teen comedies.
The movie begins sometime in the 25th century. A descendant of a great and powerful judge is in danger of flunking out of school. In order for the future to remain on it's current course, word has been received that the nation's enemies have built a time machine. They'll stop at nothing to make sure the 20th century descendant flunks out of school for good. To present this from happening, four of the best cops are sent back in time to watch over this kid. When they arrive in the 20th century, they see that the future's savior is a 28 year old high school student who's a total ween. His sister keeps him in check and he's oblivious from the affections of his hot girlfriend.
I don't know how to explain the rest of the movie. What occurs during the next ninety minutes goes beyond explanation. I don't even know where to start. But if you love slapstick comedy with heaping servings of low brown humor then you'll love this movie. If you have watched Wong Jing movies in the past and haven't already seen this film, what are you waiting for? Grab a copy of this movie today!! Stars Simon Yam, Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok Jacky Cheung, Chingmy Yau, Yuen King Tan, Ken Lo, Richard Ng, Charlie Yeung ,Dennis Chan and Dicky Cheung
Highly recommended.

I got this because I'm an Ekin Cheng fan, but I got much much more.
This film, is Hilarious. When me and my friend watched it, we couldn't stop laughing, not for a few hours afterwards even. We even nearlly fell down in the street when we were reminding ourselves of the classic moments.
It's a classic, there's barely any way to describe it.
It's insane, it's silly and VERY funny. And Ekin Cheng as the evil yet cool school teacher... JUST GO AND WATCH THIS FILM!

Future cops is a cool street fighter based movie which came before Jean-Claude Van Damme's American version of Street Fighter the movie. It is insane also because instead of General Bison's organization "Shadaloo", they called it "The General". Vega is with the good guys?!. Also, Sagat has hair. In the game, Sagat is bald. What's up with Colonel Guile's hair? It is black all over. Plus, Ryu does not have a headband (like in the American version). Well, at least they made Ryu the main character but not Ken. And also, they mixed the movie up with Goku, a DBZ character. The story should be about Street Fighter (in Chinese). This movie is also a laugh-out-loud movie mixed with action. Anyway, I will give it 9/10.
A great outing from Hong Kong's crazy director, Wong Jing. A roman-a-clef version of Street Fighter II, this film features some of Hong Kong's biggest stars (Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Simon Lam). Upon first viewing you may find that your brain is short circuiting due to the bizarreness, but once you finish, you have to go back for more. Every turn in this film leads to another sight gag, from Broom Man's hair, big lips, edible furniture, age reducing syringes, live action Super Mario Brothers, and Dragonball's Son Goku. Not really close to the story of Street Fighter II, most of the characters are here (all except Balrog and Zangief, and the 4 characters added later, although there are 2 Chun Lis in the end). All and all, a classic Hong Kong comedy, others may not think the same, but I can't imagine watching it without laughing insanely.
This movie wasn't as bad as people say it was. I've never heard of "Street Fighters" so I didn't really care that it was parodying it. I guess it's the sort of movie you wouldn't pay more than $5.00 for, but it would make the perfect party movie. The humour isn't smart, but it isn't so stupid that you cringe. It's actually pretty funny. Andy Lau was adorable, Jacky Cheung was cute, and just the whole atmosphere of the film let you relieve yourself of any seriousness. I mean, you could just see that those in the movie were acting with such an inane silliness, and so you can't help losing yourself in the zaniness of the film. Totally not Oscar-worthy in any sense, but nice fluff to get your mind off work and just have fun! Andy and Jacky are great and the cast has a floating charm, so go watch it with friends.

- CuriosidadesAndy Hui's character, Kei-on is a combination of two characters from Japanese Comic, Doreamon, which are Suneo (where Andy Hui gets the weird hairstyle and wealthy background) and Giant (in the Cantonese version of Doreamon, Giant is called Kei-on and he is a big bully). Dicky Cheung's character is also a reference to Doraemon's main character Nobita (Cantonese version is called Dai-hung, always a bully victim of Giant and Suneo), and Charlie Yeung's character is obviously refers to Shizuka (Nobita's love interest in Doraemon). In fact, in the film there is also a reference to Doraemon comic. Once Hung discover the identity and ability of those three 'future cops' he exclaim that "it is just like Dai-hung (Nobita) has three Ding-dong (Doraemon's name in Cantonese) altogether!"
