30 Min not enough time

This show would have made it if the episodes were a hour long and have Robert Conrad do more Investigating. I think Jack Webb messed up on this Show.

30 minute episodes too short

The show was entertaining, but each episode was only 30 minutes long. It took the whole 30 minutes for the D.A. to figure out the prosecution case and get it to court, and then the episodes ended without any time for a trial, and that meant there was no resolution to the story. I guess that's why it only lasted one season.

Apparently due to its content, some NBC affiliates refused to air this program, in favor of syndicated programming which was less expensive. As a result, NBC pulled this after fifteen episodes and replaced it with Sanford and Son (1972), which became hugely successful.
