Let me ask you guys this: Have you ever enjoyed playing as Dante, our favorite Devil Hunter Star with his fun to watch gameplay on YouTube, cockiness, cutscenes, boss battles and many more?
Unfortunately, for this game, Capcom made him a playable cameo protagonist, you barely to get to play as him for missions 10-13,16-19, and Dante doesn't get enough spotlight for this game. Instead, the game has a splitted campaign, we are forced to play Nero and a new protagonist that nobody wanted, and nobody asked for. I took the risk by playing the first half of a game... and I don't have a lot of positives. First off, Nero is pretty mid compared to DMC4. After a prologue and 3 missions, playing as V was worse than I thought. I had diarrhea and threw up an hour into the game because of how bad his gameplay is. And people are telling me that this is a good game despite playing as 2 sucky characters for 75% of the game? My, oh, my. You must have lost your minds, I'd rather play DMC2 instead of Nero and V because I can't tell you how much I really hate playing those 2.
What's wrong with Nero? Nero's gameplay is slowed like a turtle and very repetitive. In fact, his weapons are completely useless, combat depth is toned down, and it gives me a migraine every time I had to S rank mission 8 thanks to the broken scoring system. At least his devil breakers are decent despite his boring, slow, floaty gameplay. I admit some of the boss fights are pretty decent like Urizen, and Artemis, but not the mission 6 boss. And not to mention his costume design is trash, look like he slept with homeless women for 12 weeks straight. Still can't believe this game gets a lot of praise. Smh.
V's gameplay makes me wish I never picked up a controller in my life. I know he's Vergil's human side, but he's God awful to play or watch. It's really hard to control his pets because his controls are so bad. He can't fight, but his pet demons can. On higher difficulties, his pets will get stalemated, and you have to summoned Nightmare every time you have to deal with annoying enemy designs like Hell Judecca, Proto Angelo, Riot, and Behemoth. It takes like 25-30 minutes to get an S rank because of his nonexistent gameplay. Doesn't matter if you purchased all upgrades, he's nothing but a pile of horse manure. Talk about the boss battles, fighting Nidhogg and Elder Geryon Knight almost put me in a coma. I have no idea why Capcom thought it was a wise decision to make him a playable character and my soul was begging for mercy since I want to stop playing as him. I'm glad he's a playable character for a couple of missions and his last mission is mission 14. It has finally come to an end, but then, on his last mission, the game decides to take a big dump on your face because you have to fight 3 previous bosses, you can only choose 1 pet, and it's gets more and more annoying. I cannot believe these fanboys actually liked him with his terrible gameplay and Shakespeare quotes. More like he looks like Not My Rodrick actor.
Vergil is literally broken. It's like Capcom gave him too much OP. Man; I had a blast playing as Mister Storm Approaching. He's a playable character for 20 missions, too bad about Dante, though.
It's a shame that you can't get enough time to play as Dante. He was so popular for the last 4 games and Capcom screwed it up. If you're a trophy hunter, playing as Dante is easy, but Nero and V will give you a nightmare when you try to S rank DMD. The good thing is I already got the platinum, and I'll never touch Nero and V ever again. Just play Dante and Vergil, they are God tier characters.

Out of all of the games in the series, I commend Devil May Cry 5 for its outstanding graphics, engaging soundtrack, and great story. I also enjoy the game for returning the series to its roots after the highly controversial DMC Devil May Cry. Another thing the game does well is the boss fights, which I believe some are the best in the series. Difficulty-wise I felt the game was pretty approachable to newcomers despite a difficulty spike hear and there. So altogether I highly recommend to play this game.
I didn't think I would like this game but I enjoyed it I remember playing the old ones but the gameplay on this ones way better I love the graphics
Absolutely Incredible. Huge fan of the series, especially this one. The graphics, characters, story telling, soundtrack, etc. All synced into a masterpiece. I would recommend to any fan of action games with lots of fighting, I also love how the 3 characters have their own unique fighting styles which mixes up the gameplay well. What I love most about the Devil May Cry series is that it's not just about killing demons, but how you kill the demons. Now I'm eagerly waiting for 6th installment.
