Karwaan - Welcome to a road trip of your lifetime with Irrfan Khan, the road trip subject matter expert (remember Piku?) now. Majrooh Sultanpuri's legendary "Main akela hi chala tha janib-e-manzil magar, log saath aate gaye aur karwaan banta gaya" comes alive in this 2-hour journey involving a mix up of dead bodies. Avinash (Dulquer Salman), an IT professional by lack of choice sets out with the unintended dead body with his friend Shaukat (Irrfan) in the latter's van from Bangalore to retrieve his estranged father's coffin that has erroneously reached Kochi. During this trip with a rather straightforward objective, strange things happen and the duo meet many people who will change the course of their lives. Most importantly, Avinash will find his mojo and make a career of his choice, something that he hadn't been able to do earlier due to his father's strict ordain.
Dulquer Salman is very effective as the mellow, practical and brooding Avinash. He is an introvert and a shy character that is your common man who has sacrificed his interests for parental choices in youth and would most probably live for his family later. Your heart goes out to his infectious performance that grows on you. Irrfan is at his crackling best - his one-liners are the life of the movie, and will kerp you rolling on the floor. He is a natural choice for Karwaan. Mithila Palkar is a great discovery - expressive, lively and ebullient. She stirs up a debate on semi-generation gap with Dulquer Salman that's utterly mouth watering. Akash Khurana and the graceful Amala Akkineni have relatively smaller roles but provide great support. The music by Anurag Saikia and cinematography by Avinash Arun are brilliant. Tell me if you don't crack up with the "Heartquake". Bravo! Director Akarsh Khurana reminds us that Indian films have come of age and young directors like him can convert any subject into a magical portrayal. 4.5 STARS!

The movie is an average one, but Irran Khan will make it above average.. He won't let you get bore... Karwaan is Irrfan!
A laughter riot, not one of your average typical Bollywood slapstick comedies where the actors are cracking lame jokes which we would crack in school. This isn't your typical comedy where there is confusion in the end of the movie and the director is trying hard to make you laugh.
This is new and genuine. It has 98% comedy and 2% serious. The serious scenes literally make you think and remember your dear ones.
Acting is awesome, you can never expect less especially from Irrfan Khan. He plays Shaukat. Dulquer Salman plays Avinash who has lost his father, Mithila Palkar acts as Tanya who has lost her grandmother in the same road accident. Now an irresponsible delivery agency swaps the coffins, Avinash has to go to Ooty and tags along with Shaukat and Tanya.
The laughter levels were very high in the cinema hall, not a single soul was silent. A great road trip movie after Bombay to Goa.
This is also one of those pleasant movies where you feel happy, like Yeh Mera Sunday, Delhi in a Day or Tum Milo Toh Sahi. A perfect cocktail for a beautiful day where you want to do nothing but smile and be happy.
Verdict: Don't miss if you love comedy

Simple and beautiful! These two words can define the whole movie. Irrfan steals the show at the end with his wittiness and humour. A typical irrfan khan movie. Strongly recommend.
This unusual and almost unthinkable storyline doesn't push you anytime to think it's another Bollywood masala movie. The direction was so crisp and clear it made the viewers hooked to the story from beginning till the end credits and made you connect with each of the characters. All the 3 lead artists have given amazing performances.
Dulqar has been given a great role where he can explore his wonderful acting spectrum which his Malayalam movie fans would already been exposed to.
Mitila has given a great performance which all the"Snapchat" generation would find it easy to connect to and has few similarities with the role in Muramba, a Marathi movie where she has similarly excelled. Fans of her who have been following her from her time in web series would be very proud of her!
But Irfan khan was the heart beat of this movie who again effortlessly holds the movie together and his comic timing is second to none. Cinematography made me remember and miss my road trip days in Karnataka and Kerala. Music was both sweet and soothing.
Only negative is small plot hole which i wouldn't like to reveal here.
If this movie was a dish, it would be a very satisfying Clear soup!
