Totally out of the league from formula movies. If you are a movie buff , it would also make you wonder, how could they get all the elements beautifully knit it together.

If it was released in 2021 in the OTT age, it would have have got national and international level attention , like other good movies this year.

Like all romantic movies, this one dares to recreate a realistic and gruesome love story of a softhearted boy who struggles to win over difficult situation boldly but succumbs at the hands of heartless people around him who consider love a trap certifying it a taboo. In the end, inspires hope with the suffering of lonely lover wearing a crown which has become meaningless.

After watching its clueless trailer, I thought it to be another misfire from aashiq Abu after gangster and rani padmini but I was wrong. Before mayanadhi, the last time I saw a realistic love story in malayalam was Annayum Rasoolum. Mayanadhi narrates the complicated and poignant love story of a runaway criminal Maathan and struggling actress aparna. Tovino, aishwarya and rest of the cast performed their roles well but the real show stealer is soubin who proves that for an actor only one scene and no dialogues are enough to strike an impact among audience. Climax leaves a lump on your throat. You feel like a fresh air coming slowly on your face while watching mayanadhi. Maayanadhi is Aashiq Abu's best work till date.

One of the best beautiful malayalam movies ever made. Mathan and Appu will haunt you for long.

Poignant love story that will leave you in tears. The couple has a great chemistry in this movie. If you are looking for a feel good romantic movie to watch over the weekend. Just go for it. It will make your day. Great acting by both the lead characters, Tovino Thomas and Aishwerya lakshmi. Music is also good. College portion could have been more. It would have reached more people if the Tamil dubbed version is available in ott. The plot is kind of unique and didn't remind me of any other movie. I ended up watching this movie after watching Aishwarya in Ponniyin selvan and Ammu. Kudos to the director as well.
