O Primeiro Dia da Minha Vida

Four stories, or better to say five, can move you to think about your personal works in life and about your approach to the others. Wonderful photography and music in some way will refresh those tragic stories, that at start you won't see it as something without hope. Even in those several hours of that in some kind of the process of transition of the spirit to another world the moment of decision of all of four characters whether they are right or not will put them in the phase of dilemma, cause after making a crucial decision they won't get come back opportunity. Each of those stories will touch you emotionally, for sure, and move you also to think if they are a good persons and whether they have a way out if they deserve another chance. The message is clear, first think carefully before you decide to do something.

Today I watched the movie as part of the festival Cinelibri in Sofia and I am quite sure that the film touched emotionally everybody in the theatre. I cried several times throughout the film.

It makes you ponder on the eternal questions for the point of living and the pursuit of happiness.

Genovese uses the music as another character in the movie giving it a critical role. Another intreseting fact is that some of the actors star also in other movies he has directed.

During the discussion in the movie theatre Genovese mentioned that he has on purpuse skipped to include in the film the first day of the lives of the characters, so this is something which differs the film from the book.

In conclusion: Definitely worth watching, psychological drama with a few comedy moment.

The Best movie I've seen this year Its a movie that make you think about the life in general also about your life, what you have done good or bad, from the beginning to the end you are immerse in the movie and you dont know what is going to happen. I loved all the characters with their problems and how life can sometimes be so dark, but with good friends and a small opportunity we can see a light that make us change our minds. These movies should have more rank in general, should be created more movies like this, that you at the end of the movie start thinking not only about the movie if not about ourselves.

This is an emotional piece of art that touches upon an incredibly difficult topic: suicide.

The story is structured on the fantastic concept that an angel, or an entity coming from nowhere, turns up when the main characters are trying to kill themselves, to save them and give them another chance. After that they are given a whole week in which he tries to convince them to choose life instead.

The personal stories of these characters are painful, human, relatable and the actors (Servillo, Buy, Mastandrea) dig deep inside the psychology of the people they portray. They dig deep inside human feelings.

The beauty of this moving fairytale is that, despite the sadness and the sorrow at the basis of the story, there are amusing moments too and, especially, there is light to be found at the end of tunnel.

Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of deep emotions!
