Aporia trailer: A devastated Judy Greer tries to turn back time in Jared Moshe’s new thriller
Image
Grief is a complicated emotion. People say that what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, but what if you can go back and change the past? In today’s Aporia trailer, Judy Greer plays a mother devastated by loss who alters time and space to change the course of history. However, manipulating the laws of time is dangerous, and the results could be worse than the event you hoped to change.

In the Aporia trailer, Greer’s Sophie learns about a secret time machine built by her husband’s best friend, played by Payman Maadi. Sophie thinks she can bring her husband back after he dies in a tragic drunk-driving accident, but the consequences of her actions could lead to losing her teenage daughter or worse.

Jared Moshe directs from his own script, with Greer, Edi Gathegi, Payman Maadi, and Faithe Herman starring as the main cast.

In Moshe’s Aporia trailer,...

11 New Movies Hit VOD This Weekend, Including Mel Gibson’s Latest
As is the case every week, a slew of new titles have hit the VOD market, and business has been booming over the last few months, as movie fans desperately seek out the newest releases with the theatrical industry remaining in the doldrums.

Admittedly, there are less than half as many films as there was last week, when we saw everything from comic book dud The New Mutants to Russell Crowe putting on a fat suit to play a psychopath in Unhinged, while braver viewers also could have tackled the bizarre Chinese fantasy blockbuster Iron Mask that had action icons Arnold Schawarzenegger and Jackie Chan share the screen for the very first time.

This week’s marquee release is Fatman, the R-rated alternative Christmas thriller that sees Mel Gibson as a disgruntled and disillusioned Santa Claus, forced to fight for his life after a 12 year-old kid gets a lump of...

‘Princess of the Row’: Film Review
Image
Fully identified with a preteen heroine facing challenges that have no good solutions, Van Maximilian Carlson’s Princess of the Row views even the harshest realities of homelessness through the eyes of someone who stubbornly believes in happy endings. Sentimental at times but not as cloying as its title may suggest, the polished production benefits from the happily un-cute lead performance of young star Tayler Buck, whose determination suits the weighty social issues driving the plot.

Buck’s Alicia, nicknamed Princess in happier times, has bounced through some foster homes but spends much of her time in Los Angeles’ Skid Row,...
