Comcast’s NBCUniversal, however, is trying to be ahead of the curve with a niche streaming idea designed to leverage its strong reality programming portfolio outside the U.S. On March 1, 2016, it launches reality TV streamer Hayu in the U.K., Ireland, and Australia.

Its promise is to become “the premiere destination for must-watch, world-renowned reality TV content” for super-fans. Or put more simply: all reality all the time!

Powering Hayu are the Kardashian family, a group of popular housewives, and other reality household names. After all, Keeping Up With the Kardashians and its spin-offs, I Am Cait, The Real Housewives and Million Dollar Listing are among the core content offerings, along with the Top Chef franchise and more.

Hulu has renewed its reality series “The Kardashians” for 20 more episodes, Disney announced during its 2023 upfront presentation. This announcement came ahead of the series’ Season 3 premiere on May 25.

It’s hardly surprising that Hulu would renew the series for more episodes. When “The Kardashians” first premiered, Season 1’s debut became the most-watched premiere in the history of Hulu. The reality show has since remained the most-watched unscripted series in the streaming service’s history.

If Gov. Gavin Newsom is recalled next week, the entertainment industry will lose a valuable ally in Sacramento.

The industry’s top concern at the Capitol is the film and TV tax credit, which provides a 20-25% discount on eligible production spending in the state. In July, Newsom signed a two-year expansion of the program, bringing it to $420 million a year, and indicated he would support making that increase permanent.

Updated: Caitlyn Jenner’s Malibu home has survived the devastating Woolsey Fire that has swept through northern Los Angeles and Ventura County since Thursday morning.

The former Olympian and reality TV star was able to return to the hilltop house overlooking the Pacific Ocean on Sunday, and said she found it untouched by the fire that had reached 83,000 acres as of Sunday morning, forcing more than a quarter million people to evacuate. She had until not known the house’s fate.

“It was devastating out here in Malibu,” Jenner said in the video, panning around the surrounding mountainsides. “You can see the hills are just totally scorched.”
