The Lovely Bones

Surprised only two reviews as I just adored this film so unique & different than any I have ever seen; so LOVELY BONES is my first movie review as this film touched me so deeply. It's true we never understand what motivates this serial killer but not sure it matters because it's all about 14 year old Susie Salmon & her perspective looking back on her life & the events leading up to her murder (which we never actually witness) & seeing the effect & healing of her family though does one ever gets over the loss of their child? One powerful scene is 20 min into the film when she's walking across a field towards home & runs into this neighbor who lures her to take a look at his underground "clubhouse" and they cut back & forth to her family preparing & sitting down for dinner noticing she's late & cutting back & forth to her being coerced into trusting the neighbor who wants to show her what he built & the happy family you realize she will probably never see again. Yes, we do just want to see this murderer caught but while it might not be in the court of justice, we get the satisfaction that karma is alive & well. The film was really focused on the life & death of this precious young girl, Susie Q & yes, we want to see this horrible man punished but ultimatly does it matter if it wasn't in our justice system? We saw him crush a life that mattered and he got his comeupence.

I know the pain of child loss first hand, and it's devastating.

I'm so glad karma got him in the end.
