Salem Media Group has executed a number of business initiatives with the son and daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump that are geared toward building a multi-platform media empire aimed at conservatives, the company said on Monday.

The strategy involves Salem Media acquiring 30 percent of MxM News, a news aggregation app developed by a startup owned by Donald Trump, Jr., which also involves a long-term agreement that the two sides work together on high-impact promotional and growth initiatives.

Salem Media has also entered into a new long-term agreement with Lara Trump, the wife of Eric Trump, that allows Salem Media to continue to distribute her podcast and involves her taking an equity stake in the business, the company affirmed.

Lara Trump debuted her Fox News show My View with Lara Trump on Saturday (February 22), and it was an instant hit, becoming one of the most-watched programs of the weekend, according to Nielsen ratings. Per a Fox News press release, the show hosted by President Donald Trump‘s daughter-in-law drew 2.4 million total viewers and 290,000 in the 25-54 demo. According to Nielsen, it ranked as cable’s No. 2 non-sports telecast of the weekend, beating out the likes of Real Housewives of the Potomac, Married to Medicine, and The White Lotus. “In total viewers, Mrs. Trump beat every college basketball game (1.5 million total viewers) and NBA game on ESPN (1.6 million total viewers),” the network said. However, the NBA game on ABC, Lakers v. Nuggets, outdrew the show with 2.87 million total viewers. Fox News showed big gains across the board in the past month, in what it said was its highest rated February in its history.

Rivals MSNBC and CNN were well behind, but they did show improvement from a post-election fall off.

During the first full month of the Trump administration, Fox News averaged 3.09 million viewers in primetime, up 50% from the same month in 2024. MSNBC averaged 1.13 million, down 16%, and CNN averaged 553,000, down 3%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 387,000 viewers, up 68%, while CNN posted 122,000, up 5%, and MSNBC averaged 111,000, down 9%.

In total day, Fox News averaged 2 million, up 50%, compared to MSNBC with 638,000, down 25%, and CNN with 433,000, down 9%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 252,000, up 57%, compared to CNN with 82,000, down 6%, and MSNBC with 66,000, down 21%.

The Five was the top show, averaging 4.7 million total viewers, followed by Jesse Watters Primetime with 4.19 million, Hannity with 3.6 million, Special Report with Bret Baier with 3.59 million and The Ingraham Angle with 3.49 million.

A new cable television program hosted by former Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump drew more than 2.4 million viewers to the Fox News Channel last weekend, according to Nielsen data.

The program, “My View with Lara Trump,” featured interviews with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and new U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, among others. It was the highest-rated cable news program during the 9 p.m. Eastern Time hour, besting “Have I Got News For You?” on CNN and a rebroadcast of “The Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC.

The show delivered 2.422 million overall viewers and 290,000 adults between the ages of 25 and 54 years old (A25-54), the demographic most-attractive to cable news advertisers. By comparison, CNN had 520,000 overall viewers and MSNBC had 420,000 overall viewers in the same time slot.

The new Fox News series will see President Trump’s daughter-in-law give her perspective on the latest news from around the country, and the globe.

Lara Trump, daughter-in-law to President Donald Trump, will host a new Saturday-night show on Fox News Channel, putting the outlet in the unusual position of backing a primetime opinion host with direct connections to a sitting Commander-in-Chief on its schedule.

Trump will anchor “My View,” which Fox News said would “focus on the return of common sense to all corners of American life as the country ushers in a new era of practicality.” The show is expected to feature both analysis and “interviews with thought leaders, shedding light on the headlines driving the national conversation and affecting families around the country.” The show will air at 9 p.m. on Saturdays. MSNBC offers a program with similar concepts, “Inside With Jen Psaki,” the former White House Press Secretary for President Joe Biden, which runs Sundays and Mondays.

Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump and former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, is joining Fox News to host a new weekend show.

Trump’s show, My View with Lara Trump, will air at 9 p.m. Et Saturdays starting February 22.

Lara Trump, who is the wife of Eric Trump, previously had been a paid contributor for Fox News but left in 2022 after Donald Trump launched his presidential campaign. She also has hosted a web series, The Right View, since 2020.

Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, said in a statement, “A gifted communicator who knows how to connect to the viewers, successful entrepreneur and working mother, Lara’s innate understanding of the American public and today’s political landscape will be a compelling addition to our weekend lineup.”
