Exclusive: Film Bridge International has acquired international rights to the action thriller Valiant One and will be selling the film at the upcoming American Film Market.

Steve Barnett directs the flick in his feature debut. Starring are Chase Stokes (Outer Banks) and Lana Condor (To All the Boys franchise). The story follows a routine mission that goes awry when a U.S. Army helicopter crashes deep within North Korean territory. Now, a team of non-combat tech specialists, led by Captain Edward Brockman, must navigate the hostile terrain and fend off North Korean forces as they desperately race to escort a civilian tech specialist across the treacherous Demilitarized Zone.

Briarcliff Entertainment will release the film in the U.S. on January 31, 2025.

The film is produced by Bernie Goldmann (300) and Alan Powell, and executive produced by Vicky Patel. Stokes served as co-executive producer. Written by Barnett and Eric Tipton with counsel from former members of the U.

After nine episodes investigating the murder of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), the “Only Murders in the Building” Season 4 finale is on the horizon. Between their personal connection to the victim, adventures across the Arconia courtyard, and the simultaneous movie adaptation of their podcast, this season saw the “Omitb” trio of Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) pulled in various directions while trying to dig up the truth.

Episode 9, “Escape from Planet Klongo,” took another narrative turn, moving Marshall P. Pope (Jin Ha) into the position of prime suspect. But as it always is with “Only Murders,” expect at least one more killer twist up the sleeve of these storytellers in the Season 4 finale.

The trio is back in New York. After discovering the remains of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch) in the Arconia’s incinerator, Mabel (Selena Gomez) and Oliver (Martin Short) speculate that Charles (Steve Martin) might have been the intended target of the sniper that took her out. In Episode 2, they start to investigate while on hold with 911. Mabel and Oliver go to the lower-rent side of the building, where they presume the sniper was situated. Charles shelters in his apartment, left to cope with a grief-induced manifestation of Sazz, the threat of the sniper and an unexpected guest. The podcasters continue to investigate the neighbors opposite Charles’s apartment in Episode 3, this time with the help (or hindrance) of their actor counterparts from the Paramount biopic.

As Martin Short says in the Only Murders in the Building Season 4 teaser clip, “somewhere lay a sniper’s nest,” and the identity of that sniper will prove even more difficult to discover in the latest installment of Hulu’s murder mystery series, which has expanded its star-studded cast quite a bit.

The teaser trailer, plot summary and a new photo reveal the purpose behind the addition of some of the stars, because, in Oliver’s words they’re “goin to the movies.” The “starriest season yet” will arrive this summer on Hulu, bringing back the original trio of sleuths as well as other characters who have been a part of their Arconia drama since the beginning.

Good Deed Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to Hangdog, a comedy movie starring Desmin Borges and Kelly O’Sullivan.

Director Matt Cascella’s feature is scheduled for release via digital platforms on Oct. 25, which will be preceded by advance theatrical screenings in select cities. Rounding out the cast are Barbara Rosenblat, Steve Coulter, Catherine Curtin and rescue dog-turned-performer Mr. Tibbs.

Set in Portland, Maine, Hangdog centers on Walt (Borges), who deals with anxiety while attempting to retrieve his stolen dog before his girlfriend, Wendy (O’Sullivan), returns from a business trip.

The film earned audience awards at the Woods Hole and New Hampshire Film Festivals. It has also screened at the Provincetown International Film Festival, the Berkshire International Film Festival and the Calgary International Film Festival.

The latest episode of “Only Murders in the Building” saw the surprise return of Amy Ryan as Jan Bellows, Charles’ ex-girlfriend and Tim Kono’s murderer, who visited the grief-stricken true-crime podcaster’s apartment fresh out of prison — and she wasn’t released for good behavior.

Bellows, who emerged from Charles’ closet, revealed that she was able to break out by using parkour taught to her by Sazz combined with “psychosexual manipulation.”

Showrunner John Hoffman revealed that the idea of Jan’s escape was inspired by the real-life manhunt for Pennsylvania prisoner Danelo Canevale last September.

“We were right around the time that the writer’s room was [running] when there was an escape from prison, where the guy was parkouring up the walls, and he got out and there was a chase going on,” Hoffman told TheWrap.
