Most of the youth-oriented buddy comedies that came out in the ‘90s aren’t fondly remembered today. Like, nobody seems to be going to bat for movies like Meet the Deedles, Dead Man on Campus, or Bio-Dome, the film that dared to pair Pauly Shore with one of the Baldwins.

But at least one movie starring two Gen X slackers has stood the test of time: Wayne’s World. Also, to some extent, Wayne’s World 2.

De La Soul have announced a 20th anniversary reissue of their seventh studio album, The Grind Date, out March 21st. As a preview, they’ve shared a new song titled “Bigger.” Stream it below.

Two of Chris Farley‘s most popular comedies, which also co-stars David Spade, are coming home in a newly enhanced ultra-high-definition format. Tommy Boy and Black Sheep were one-two punches from the duo as they ventured from the small screen in Saturday Night Live to the big screen with their respective antics. Blu-ray.com has announced that Paramount will be remastering a 4K Blu-ray of Tommy Boy, while Black Sheep also gets an ultra-hd upgrade, but from Kino Lorber despite also being a Paramount movie. Both are also due to hit retailers the same day on March 25, 2025.

New Line Cinema proved to be more highly motivated than the rest of its competition in landing the forthcoming Chris Farley biopic that is set to star Paul Walter Hauser as the late comedy legend.

The company has landed director Josh Gad’s film following a highly competitive situation. Hauser, a recent Emmy winner for his work in Apple TV+’s Black Bird, will star as Farley, the Saturday Night Live standout and star of such films as Tommy Boy who died of a drug overdose in 1997 at age 33.

Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (The Disaster Artist, Daisy Jones & The Six) are writing the screenplay based on Tom Farley Jr. and Tanner Colby’s best-selling biography, The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts. It's all over now, the big "Succession" question answered, and who can say it ended well? Well, maybe Tommy Boy can. You might not have seen the winner of the series finale coming from left field, outside of the family and the average fan's field of vision, but the biggest betrayal was hiding in plain sight. Bridge of the Doomed certainly can’t be accused of being a slow burn. Within the first few minutes, an army base comes under attack, and a group of civilians is overrun and eaten by zombies. And there’s no hesitation to put the bloody results on the screen. This is the zombie apocalypse 80s style, except it isn’t badly dubbed into English.

After the opening attack, General Vasquez sends a squad led by Lt Whitmore and Sgt. Hernandez to hold a bridge or destroy it in necessary, while they wait for reinforcements to arrive. Getting those reinforcements falls to the ominously named Colonel Charon.

Chris Farley employed an unusual set of gifts as an actor. During the Farley era, critics struggled to understand the quality of his craft. I'm not going to name names, but critics at the time called Farley a "slob," "blimp," and "fat dumb guy." Their words say more about them than they do about Farley. They were so busy sneering at an appearance they deemed unacceptable that they couldn't see the radiant being who brightened every scene he appeared in.

Since its premiere in 1975, the NBC variety show has sported an expansive fluctuating cast of repertory players and newer featured players. One such member was Farley, a former Chicago's Second City improvisational comedy theater member, who served as a cast member from 1990 to 1995. During that time, the actor also began to develop a film career with roles in Wayne's World, Coneheads, and Airheads. It's the natural life cycle of an "SNL" cast member to spend a few seasons on television, increasing their reputation, before leaving the show and attempting to get big in movies or to get a television show of their own. That's the path that's been followed by countless cast members, from early stars like Eddie Murphy and Chevy Chase starring in movies to more recent cast members like Andy Samberg or Amy Poehler going on to sitcom success. But for Peter Segal, the director of "Tommy Boy," there was no one better than Farley for the job. But Farley also got plenty of help from his good friend David Spade, and Segal knew that they had some expert comedic minds to lean on to fill in the gaps in the script, and that's just what they did.

In show business, sometimes Hollywood giveth, and Hollywood taketh away. All Bible quotes aside, the idiom almost applied to the 1995 comedy "Tommy Boy." After having them on "Saturday Night Live" together, executive producer Lorne Michaels recognized the chemistry between best friends Chris Farley and David Spade and pitched the idea for a movie featuring the two comedians.

The original draft of "Tommy Boy" focused more on the relationship between Tommy (Farley) and his stepbrother Paul (Rob Lowe). But the concept wasn't working for director Peter Segal. "I felt that was the B story," Segal told Deadline on the film's 25th anniversary. "The A story was these two guys who didn't get along, forced to work together to save this company, and the town."

That required a comprehensive rewrite of the script. There was just one problem: Farley and Spade were due back in New York for the new season of "Saturday Night Live.

Grammy-winning rapper, producer and actor Coolio, best known for his 1995 hit ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’, has died aged 59.

The rapper’s longtime manager Jarel Posey confirmed the news to Variety, saying that Coolio died on Wednesday afternoon.

According to TMZ, Coolio was found at a friend’s house, reports ‘Variety’.

“We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and client, Coolio, who passed away this afternoon. He touched the world with the gift of his talent and will be missed profoundly.”

Sheila Finegan, his manager at Trinity Artists International, said in a statement to ‘Variety’.

Beginning with a showdown between Lilith Father Murphy and Detective Carson (Thomas Haley; The Crossing). The scenes between the film’s segments all involve these three. Father Murphy is a priest who’s losing his faith. Carson wants revenge on Lilith for reasons explained in the first segment.

Here is one for fans of small budget horror flicks and men getting what they deserve.    Lilith is an indie horror anthology of four stories about a demon named Lility "who punishes men for their indiscretions against women". Poignant for our times.    The horror flick stars a number of icons of the genre, Vernon Wells and Felissa Rose for example, and will available on digital platforms on July 30th from Terror Films. An official trailer for Paranormal Attraction has arrived online. This is the latest from filmmaker Alex T. Hwang, who previously helmed Lilith and Prey, in Cold Blood. In this case, Hwang is taking on the well-trodden supernatural subgenre of horror. Though it doesn't seem to be a riff on the Paranormal Activity franchise or anything along those lines. Instead, we are getting a thriller with a supernatural twist, complete with a side of romance. There is, at the very least, a lot going on here.

The trailer kicks off with a woman moving into a new home. It is a little hard to get a grip on what exactly is going on, as it is more of a collection of shots strung together, as opposed to something trying to present the basic idea of the narrative. Tiberiusfilm Ltd. (Tfl), the company behind the multi-award winning horror film Lilith and action thriller Prey, in Cold Blood is announcing the completion of their new horror film Paranormal Attraction, starring Brooklyn Haley, Nicole Cinaglia , Eden Shea Beck and Hunter Johnson.

The film was written by Richard J. Aguirre and directed by Alex T. Hwang, and produced by Kathleen W. Hwang, Pat Kusnadi, and Thomas Haley.

Paranormal Attraction tells the dark and sinister tale of a young woman, Sara Myer (Brooklyn Haley), who moves into an abandoned house with a tragic and mysterious past. As Sarah begins to purge the house of the previous owner’s belongings, she begins to uncover its deadly secrets. Rookie police officer Evelyn Bennett (Nicole Cinaglia) helps her investigate the mysterious happenings and captures Sara’s heart. Will they learn the secrets of the house or will the house claim Sara’s soul?

Blind Poster and Images: "Love Is “Blind” In The New Horror Masterpiece By Marcel Walz Starring Sarah French and Caroline Williams

Silent Partners has just unveiled the first look poster and new stills from the upcoming feature Blind, the highly anticipated new horror thriller by Blood Feast remake director Marcel Walz.

Blind follows Faye (Sarah French), a former actress that lost her vision due to botched laser eye surgery, struggles to put her life back together while living alone in her dream house in the Hollywood Hills.

Tonislav Hristov’s Love & Engineering is to open the 20th edition of the Visions du Réel documentary film festival.

The film about a Bulgarian computer engineer searching for a formula to create irresistible seductive power for four desperate digital geeks searching for analogue love will open this year’s festival in Nyon, Switzerland tomorrow (April 24). The festival runs from April 25 to May 3.

The German-Finnish-Bulgarian co-production won the Audience Award at DocPoint Helsinki and is set to be screened at Hot Docs Toronto and the Tribeca Film Festival this month.

Nyon’s 2014 edition will see the festival celebrating two anniversaries: in 1969, the Festival international de cinéma Nyon was founded by the later Berlinale director Moritz de Hadeln, and the name change to Visions du Réel was taken by present artistic director Luciano Barisone’s predecessor Jean Perret in 1995
