Starring Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding, the film introduced audiences to the titular serial killer on a murderous rampage who mistook the two co-workers for a Valentine's Day couple.

Per What's on Netflix, Heart Eyes will make its streaming debut on May 8, and remain on Netflix for 18 months before it heads to Hulu. The move is part of Sony Pictures' first-window deal with the streaming service that has all of their theatrical titles in 2025 debut on there a few months after their initial release. Heart Eyes is just one of many to come, as others such as Karate Kid: Legends and Until Dawn will also debut on Netflix later this year.

There’s a small glimmer of hope for all the Happy Death Day fans out there. Director Christopher Landon and lead actress Jessica Rothe took the stage at the American Cinematheque over the weekend and confirmed that the third film in the horror franchise isn’t dead just yet.

“The third movie is moving forward,” Rothe announced on stage with Landon, as reported by Bloody Disgusting.

Rothe stars in the franchise as Tree, a college student who has a nasty habit of getting stuck in a time loop with a serial killer. The time loop restarts when Tree dies, usually in increasingly gruesome ways.

Just one week after yet another non-update on the status of Happy Death Day 3, franchise star Jessica Rothe announced at a double feature screening of the first two movies that the long-awaited third installment in the horror-comedy franchise is now “moving forward”!

“The third movie is moving forward,” Jessica Rothe said on stage at the American Cinematheque last night, with Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon by her side.

Landon himself added, “It is moving forward.”

It’s been six years since the release of Happy Death Day 2U, with fans spending these past six years wondering why the financially successful franchise hasn’t yet made its return. Landon recently revealed that Universal and Blumhouse at one point considered doing a third installment as a three-part miniseries for Peacock, which of course didn’t end up happening.

On a day when much of the United States faced the fear of economic collapse, horror fans descended upon New Orleans to celebrate big screen scares.

Thursday was the launch of the 2025 Overlook Film Festival, a four-day fest filled with screenings of unreleased movies, retrospectives and immersive events. Festival co-founders Landon Zakheim and Michael Lerman welcomed the crowd to the opening night film, Christopher Landon’s “Drop.” They reflected on how the festival is showing more titles than ever this year — a respite from the world around them.

“It’s the worst year of our lives, but a great year for horror and genre,” Zakheim said.

“Drop” was met enthusiastically by the opening night crowd, which embraced both the mystery and the humor of the techno-thriller. After the screening, Landon did a Q&a with Lerman where he reflected on his time shooting movies like “Happy Death Day” in New Orleans.

There are few American archetypes that are more enduring and iconic than that of cowboys in the Wild West. As a testament to their timeless appeal, Westerns have seen a resurgence of popularity recently.

As their ubiquity solidified, Westerns have expanded beyond their usual American Southwest period piece setting with grounded stakes. 7th Heaven actor Jeremy London comes to the defense of Stephen Collins in Hollywood Demons, an Investigation Discovery series premiering Monday that promises to “focus on different scandals and tragedies” in Tinseltown.

The first episode of the six-episode series focuses on Collins, who admitted back in 2014 that he sexually assaulted three underaged girls but was never charged. London, who played a minister on the drama that aired on the WB and CW from 1996 to 2007, spoke to ID about his memories working with the actor.

Jack Lilley, the stunt performer and actor who made a home for himself on Little House on the Prairie by working on every one of the beloved NBC drama’s nine seasons, has died. He was 91.

Lilley had Alzheimer’s disease and died Wednesday at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, his granddaughter Savanah Lilley told The Signal, a news outlet in Santa Clarita.

In Blazing Saddles (1974), Lilley played one of the outlaws who loots the town of Rock Ridge, and in one scene, he and his horse slide into a pool of mud and are submerged. It was an accident, but director Mel Brooks liked it so much, he kept it in the movie.

Jack Lilley, whose showbiz career spanned more than seven decades as an actor, stuntman, animal coordinator and other roles and included Little House on the Prairie, Blazing Saddles, John Ford films and TV Westerns, has died. He was 91. His family posted the news on Instagram but did not provide a date or cause of death.

“The man who started it all. Figuratively and literally,” the social post reads in part. “The card shark, the horse trader, the wrangler, the man with a story for everything, he always knew someone who could help if he couldn’t, known to many as friend, storyteller, joker, and a heck of a horseman.”

Melissa Gilbert, who played the show's main star, Laura Ingalls, revealed that Jack Lilley has died at age 91. In a touching post on Instagram, Gilbert shared fond memories between the two on the series and behind the scenes. Lilley, who made appearances in classic Westerns such as Bonanza, Gunsmoke, The Wild Wild West, and more, taught Gilbert how to ride horses as a young child after she begged him to go ride. Michael Lohan has been arrested.

The 64-year-old father of Lindsay Lohan was arrested on a domestic violence charge in Texas after he allegedly flipped estranged wife Kate Major out of a chair.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office (Hcso) told People that Kate, 42, was at a medical appointment on Friday (February 21) when she saw Michael in the parking lot of the building. A call was placed to 911 as she was “concerned he was following her.”

When Calls The Heart Spoilers reveal that Melissa Gilbert, best known for her role as Laura Ingalls on Little House On The Prairie, has joined the show for a few episodes.

Sometimes even the best television shows are victims of their own success, running longer than their natural story should at the expense of their overall quality. From will-they/won't-they romances fulfilled too quickly or the show trying to prolong its central conflicts and mysteries, popular shows try to artificially draw out their narratives to maintain audiences. This leaves even the most ardent fans of a given show acknowledging that there are lesser seasons missing the magic that made the series so successful. A perfect show knows when to call it quits before it overstays its welcome, but very few of them can take that hint.

Simply put, even many beloved shows just try to milk the last bit of success they can, even after enduring changes to their overarching plot or main cast. In doing so, the legacy of these prolonged series is a bit tarnished from their previous esteemed status.

There are a handful of book series that are geared towards girls and young women that have managed to really stand the test of time, like the always-fun "The Baby-Sitters Club," and one of the great classics, "Little House on the Prairie." The semi-autobiographical novels by Laura Ingalls Wilder followed her family as they made their lives on a tiny farmstead near Plum Creek and the town of Walnut Grove, Minnesota, from the 1870s through the 1890s. The teaser trailer for the gonzo horror-sci-fi comedy “Companion” released late last year stated that it was “from the studio that brought you ‘The Notebook.’”

It works to offset your expectations, particularly because the next card reads that the movie is also “from the unhinged creators of ‘Barbarian.’”

More than just a funny marketing hook, the “Notebook”/”Barbarian” comparison also speaks to the vibe of the movie, described by the studio as “a new kind of love story,” which splits the difference between terror and tenderness as it traces the dissolution of a relationship over one chaotic weekend. A couple of weeks ago, Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures made a surprising casting announcement, revealing that Scott Foley, who played the Ghostface killer in Scream 3, is returning for Scream 7, even though his character was killed off. That was quickly followed by another surprising announcement: Matthew Lillard, who was a Ghostface killer in the original Scream and also appeared to be killed off, will also be appearing in Scream 7. Now, their co-star Mason Gooding has said in an interview that Foley and Lillard are bringing “something special” to the film, and Foley and another co-star Mark Consuelos, took a moment to discuss being set up in the same hotel during an interview on Live with Kelly and Mark. Heart Eyes director Josh Ruben may be a horror filmmaker, but nothing could’ve prepared him for the waking nightmare he experienced last month.

On Jan. 7, just weeks before Ruben and his wife Lauren Sick were slated to move into their dream home in Altadena, they watched along in horror as the Eaton Fire headed straight for their new neighborhood in Los Angeles County. While they assumed the worst when their security camera cut to black, Ruben and Sick received confirmation on Jan. 9 that their vacant home was gone.
